Brawl Report #71 - Won over half of my fights for the first time in a while

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. This time, I got a better result than my last few brawls as I managed to get over half of my fights as wins.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 5 wins. Despite the image showing 8 fight, I only see 7 fights so one of the fights did not show up at all again. I don't know why it shows 5 but I guess it might be a bug or they give you a bonus win for at least participating. My rewards for the brawl were 5,619 merits and 88.808 SPS in the 4 star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We ranked pretty well this time as well.

Brawl fights

There were 4 fight that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match and I didn't have much options due to only using neutral monsters in this fight.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match and that bloodlust monster was too much for me. That magic monster just did too much damage and I couldn't survive long enough.

You can find the third match here. I won this match and my opponent's summoner ended up being the reason why I won. With the reverse speed ruleset, my opponent gave me a speed debuffed and let my monsters attack first. I was able to kill off my opponent fast enough due to it.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match and I think my giant killer magic monster did fine work. It was able to deal massive damage due to the high mana monsters that my opponent used.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match and combining a shield monster with a demoralize monster worked out well. I only took damage from the thorns and my opponent couldn't do much against me.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match and the double demoralize that my opponent had made me worried. I landed all my attacks and the Sandworm did a great job of killing off my opponent. I was a bit worried but I guess having more speed than my opponent worked out to my advantage.

You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match and my opponent just overwhelmed me. That Katrelba Gobson with the double strike, bloodlust, and sneak was too much for me.

Conclusion

I think doing 7 fights for 5,619 merits and 88.808 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I won more than half of my fights so it was a great brawl. The Splinterlands screen is still messed up and giving me an extra win. My guild still placed 4th place so I think we did well.
