Brawl Report #70 - Not exactly half but I will take it

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. This time, I got a better result than my last few brawls as I managed to get 3 wins this time. It's better compared to the 1 surrender that I got last time.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 3 wins. Despite the image showing 8 fight, I only see 7 fights so one of the fights did not show up at all again. I don't know why it shows 2 but I guess it might be a bug or they give you a bonus win for at least participating. My rewards for the brawl were 4,952 merits and 77.487 SPS in the 4 star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We ranked pretty well this time as well.

Brawl fights

There were 3 fight that I won and 4 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match due to Living Lava and I was able to dodge a few attacks. I also didn't miss any attacks so I won because Living Lava didn't take much damage using its shield ability and its damage is quite high to overcome the tank heal.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match and my opponent just had the stronger lineup. His heal monsters were too much to overcome when combined with cleanse.

You can find the third match here. I thought that I would lose this match but I ended up winning. The scattershot from the ruleset ended up working to my advantage and I was able to barely win this match.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost because my opponent just had the stronger lineup. I ended up missing a lot of attacks because of the blind from my opponent's summoner and that corrosive ward was quite annoying to remove my armor.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because of Mylor and its thorns ability. I used too many melee monsters.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match and I was able to win because of the tank heal and repair. My opportunity monster killed off most of my opponent's monsters.

You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match and my opponent just overwhelmed me. it didn't help that I missed a lot of my attacks.

Conclusion

I think doing 7 fights for 4,952 merits and 77.487SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. It wasn't exactly half wins like I would want but it's still better than my previous results. So I will take this as a decent brawl. The Splinterlands screen is still messed up and giving me an extra win. My guild still placed 4th place so I think we did well.
