Brawl Report #69 - Losing most of my fights despite not having a level disadvantage

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. It doesn't help much but I only got 1 win this time. It's unfortunate but I did lose most of my matches again.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 1 win due to a surrender. Despite the image showing 2 wins, I only see 7 fights so one of the fights did not show up at all again. I don't know why it shows 2 but I guess it might be a bug or they give you a bonus win for at least participating. My rewards for the brawl were 4,381 merits and 70.58 SPS in the 4 star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. It's the first time in a few brawls that we ranked higher than last place or the place before last.

Brawl fights

There were 1 fight that I won due to a surrender and 6 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match but there wasn't much I could do against Mylor (thorns) and Quora. Most of my lineup was mostly melee and those thorns just destroyed me.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match and it was a close match. The only issue is that my final monster got destroyed by the magic monster.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match and I am severely limited in these magic fights. My opponent just outplayed me.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost because of the combo of Rathe and Adele. I also missed quite a few attacks but I do think there was a chance for me to win. Unfortunately, my luck in landing my hits wasn't so great.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and that Disintegrator was too annoying. It decreased my damage through demoralize and there wasn't much that I could do against my opponent as I couldn't deal enough damage.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match and the bloodlust monster was too dangerous. Combining that with the heal from the summoner and tank heal, it made it very hard to beat my opponent.

Conclusion

I think doing 7 fights for 4,381 merits and 70.58 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I didn't do very well in my fights as I only won 1 fight. I wasn't expecting the Splinterlands screen to mess up and show 2 wins though. My guild still placed 6th place so it wasn't the worst. I am glad that I submitted all my matches because that surrender happened because my opponent forgot to submit his matches.
