Brawl Report #171: A decent brawl for my guild
Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles under the right ruleset or summoner. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it wasn't so great this time around.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 3 wins. This time, there were no free wins from guilds who didn't submit people. My rewards for the brawl were 4,286 merits and 75.678 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all its spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I didn't do so great this time, but my guild did amazing this time around.
Brawl fights
There were 6 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 1 won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had two magic monsters and one of them even had armor. So I just couldn't deal enough damage against my opponent.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had a level and speed advantage over me. Also, it's hard to win when my opponent has a Quora.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. I couldn't do too much against my opponent because of the level advantage. I just couldn't do enough damage.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My summoner was the MVP of this match as it reduced the magic damage on my opponent's side.
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. It's hard to beat a Yodin Zaku.
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had more damage and speed than me. I couldn't do much once my opponent stacked up bloodlust.
You can find the seventh match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My magic monsters just wiped out my opponent's tank, and once that was out, my opponent couldn't do much damage at all.
You can find the eighth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. My opponent had a Katrelba Gobson, and that stacked up bloodlust on it once it killed off my backline.
Conclusion
Doing 9 fights for 4,286 merits and 75.678 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did worst this time around, but my guild did great. Brawls are tough, and there wasn't too much I could do against my opponent when most of them had a level advantage. Either way, there weren't many free wins this time around and I had to submit all my fights as there were no empty brawls.

I think pretty unlucky picks, your opponents often went full mage and it's kinda a lotto to counter that, if you go mage counter it screws you for other types of battles
over 75 sps and 4k+ merits is really decent score bro!
Awesome man, you stuck with it despite the difficult matchups. Your guild still did great though, and as always, the merit rewards will add up as long as you're as consistent as you've always been
