Brawl Report #148: Still getting destroyed but at least I won more than last time
Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it was decent this time around. I got wrecked in my actual fights, but I did do better than last time.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 3 wins. This time, there were 1 free wins because one guild didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 3,000 merits and 44.217 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild placed higher than last time, but our total points were lower, and that led to our rewards being lower.
Brawl fights
There were 5 that I lost and 2 that I won. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. I was worried about my opponent's magic monsters, but Katrelba and my snipe monster did a great job of killing them off.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent's ranged monsters were stronger and faster than mine. When you combine that with his summoner for increased damage, there was nothing I could do.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had the stronger cards, and I don't think I would have stood a chance against Kron and Llama.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had the stronger cards in terms of damage and speed.
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There isn't much to say when my opponent had double demoralize and thorns.
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. Those opportunity monsters were too powerful, and I couldn't do much once that bloodlust started stacking.
You can find the seventh match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. Once I took out that tank from my opponent. The rest of my monsters were able to clear out the lower health monsters. My opportunity monster also helped quite me out quite a bit. My opponent's damage was too spread out.
Conclusion
Doing 8 fights for 3,000 merits and 44.217 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I didn't do so great, at least it was better than last time. I am glad to see that I can still beat lineups with so many leveled up cards if I play my own lineup well. It's too bad that the rewards were lower despite ranking higher. It all comes down to the points I guess.

I guess now it's harder as more people concentrate on non rebellion CA slots, so better opponents and more opponents

I think people who cannot but new cards are now focusing on filling the fray with older cards. I now find it very difficult to actually win, because I met opponents with stronger, older cards.
