Brawl Report #130: An average brawl

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I had an average result this time around.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. There was 1 free win in this match because one guild didn't submit someone for a game. My rewards for the brawl were 5,905 merits and 85.399 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 3rd place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild placed quite well this time around and it's a great result as my guild carried the results. I had an average brawl so they did some great work this time around.

Brawl fights

There were 4 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 1 that I won due to surrender. So I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. There wasn't much I could do with all those magic monsters and all those tank heals on the first monster.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. It's tough to beat my opponent when you have Daarg and weapons training. It gave him extra magic damage and my tank went down as my opponent focused most of his damage.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. All those magic monsters were tough to beat after my tanks went down. Once my ranged monster moved up front, there wasn't much I could do.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I was a bit lucky. I couldn't do much against my opponent's tank but my sneak monster with bloodlust was able to kill enough monsters and wipe out that backline.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. It kind of hurts to have a speed disadvantage as it allows my opponent to move first and makes me miss some attacks.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match because I had a stronger lineup. My monsters were faster than my opponent so I was able to kill off my opponent and my opponent also missed quite a few attacks.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 5,905 merits and 85.399 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It was an average brawl with an equal amount of wins and losses. My guild did great this brawl, and we placed well this time around.
