Brawl Report #128 - My best brawl in a long time

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I missed the result screen of the previous brawl so I need to pay a bit more attention. My battle results were the best that I have gotten in a while.

Brawl fights

I won 3 fights, won 2 fights due to surrender, and lost the other 2. Below is an idea of the match and a few thoughts about it, but it's a great result. I am still in the bronze foil gold foil brawl spot. This means that I won't be at a level disadvantage and should expect more wins. It is a big contrast compared to my last brawl where I suffered badly.

You can find the first match here. I won this match because I had a stronger lineup. Isgald Vorst is amazing because it was able to stack bloodlust early and my opponent had too many monsters that couldn't attack. With this, I was able to wipe out my opponent without too many issues as repair reduced the damage.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent just had the stronger lineup. The magic monsters were too much to overcome. I wasn't expecting to fight against all those magic monsters.

You can find the third match here. I won this match because I played according to the ruleset. My opponent didn't use any flying monsters and I was able to take out quite a few monsters with my Katrelba Gobson.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. That gladiator in the second spot buffed by martyr too much and it became even more powerful when bloodlust stacked.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because I was lucky. I was able to dodge enough attacks to win the match. My flying monsters managed to stay alive long enough until earthquake took out most of the backline. Once that last flying monster went up front, I was able to win the match.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and I got 5 wins and 2 losses. I don't know if there was a free win or not, but if there was, then I had 6 wins. It was a pretty good brawl and the best result in the past few brawls. My rewards for the brawl were 4,571 merits and 64.943 SPS in the 4-star category. I forgot to visit the guild and take a closer view of my rewards but I think we ranked in around 7th place. It looks like we did worse than last time despite me doing quite well on this brawl.

Conclusion

The brawl was quite bad this time around. I am glad to see myself doing so well when there isn't any level
disadvantage. I still lost some fights but I think I did quite well with all the free wins. It's too bad that my guild didn't do so great, but I still think the rewards were quite decent.
