Brawl Report #110 - Losing a lot of fights but free wins are great

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I missed the last brawl and then I missed this one for the result screen. I need to pay a bit more attention. I didn't do great in my fights but having those free wins from people not showing up is amazing.

Brawl fights

I won 1 fight and lost 4. Below is an idea of the match along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match but it was close. I missed quite a few attacks, which became the deciding factor. That enrage monster and the speed difference ended up being too tough.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent just had the stronger lineup. Eternal Tofu as the summoner and that bloodlust monster was deadly.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup again. The speed difference also hurt because my opponent was able to attack before I could do much and that wiped out most of my monsters.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I took advantage of flying monsters in a earthquake ruleset. This allowed me to outlast my opponent.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and my opponent just had the stronger lineup. The magic monsters plus a ranged snipe monster and a poison monster countered my lineup.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and I got 3 wins and 4 losses. It was a decent brawl as I won quite a few fights even if it was only because they didn't show up. My rewards for the brawl were 3,381 merits and 49.45 SPS in the 4-star category. I forgot to visit the guild and take a closer view of my rewards but I think we ranked in 7th or 8th place. It looks like my guild didn't do so great either. This is just slightly less than the last time, but the results are what they are. I can't complain since I lose a lot of my fights too.

Conclusion

I think my brawl result this time wasn't so bad if I take into account all those free wins. Make sure to submit your matches even if you don't win. You never know if there will be free wins because people forgot to submit their matches. I have had a few times where I forgot as well or when life kept me too busy. It happens, but I would try to submit your matches because that is how you get the rewards at the end of a brawl.
