Coffee lovers and their strange habits.

Loving greetings to all my Hive friends, especially coffee lovers. I find the topic this time fascinating, because I've actually always met people with somewhat strange coffee drinking habits. But out of all of them there is one that really puzzled me. It was a great friend of mine who I am very fond of and whose coffee habits surprised me enormously.

My friend is also a coffee lover just like me, we have shared important and long conversations in the company of a big pot of coffee. And whenever we arrange to meet, coffee is a must. But several years ago, when our friendship was just beginning, I was surprised to learn that my dear friend would not brush his teeth without enjoying a good cup of coffee.

I don't know how it is in other countries, but in Venezuela it is a social and oral hygiene code to brush your teeth as soon as you get out of bed. So, I found it very impressive that he prioritized his cup of coffee before brushing his mouth. According to my friend, the menthol taste of the toothpaste alternates the taste of the coffee and therefore his full enjoyment. So he is dedicated to enjoy his coffee and then if he gives a place to wash his mouth. This would seem normal to me, if in any case it was only part of an intimate ritual at home, but my friend also confessed to me that sometimes he has to leave in a hurry due to work commitments and in the same way he leaves the house, interacts with other people and until he drinks his first cup of coffee, he does not wash his mouth, even if this happens in the afternoon.

This undoubtedly impressed me and at first I found it very unpleasant. But the truth is that everyone has their own habits and even more so when it comes to coffee. So I try to be quite respectful and understanding. As for me, I try to wait a few minutes for the sensation of the toothpaste to pass. I also wash my mouth with enough water. But it is practically impossible for me to start my day without washing my mouth. Of course, after I wash it out, nothing comes between me and my cup of coffee. But as I said, everyone develops their habits according to their own reality.
