¨Café Madrid¨ a different experience.
A warm greeting to all my friends at Hive, especially coffee lovers. I am very happy to be back in one of my favorite communities in the whole hive, since coffee is something that is present every day of my life and in this space I can share many of those coffee experiences with you. Today I'm here to tell you about my experience drinking a delicious coffee that is part of Venezuela's coffee heritage. It's called Madrid coffee.
When I say that this coffee is part of our national memory, it is because the company that positioned it was founded in 1958. This is a very important date in the political and social history of Venezuelans. Since then, this company has positioned other coffee brands amid a host of political situations. In 2009, 51 years after its founding, it was taken over by a state agency in one of the failed attempts to nationalize the food industry. From then on, Café Madrid disappeared from the shelves.
I was very surprised to see Café Madrid again in the small store where I regularly do my shopping. Clearly, the current situation in Venezuela is prompting a desperate attempt to revive the food industry, and many brands that had disappeared are reappearing, while others are beginning to emerge. You can imagine my excitement when I saw this brand of coffee that has accompanied so many generations and survived such difficult historical processes. So, I didn't hesitate to bring it home to share my experience with you.
When I opened the package, as I usually do, I smelled the coffee and found it quite pleasant. I set out to prepare it in the coffee maker, so I added the number of spoonfuls I prefer, which is usually seven when the coffee is new to me, so that I can gradually adjust it to my taste.

I put it in my coffee maker and waited for it to brew while watching it slowly drip. The aroma it released was not so pleasant to me. The truth is that Café Madrid is a roasted coffee, which is why it is named Madrid despite being processed and marketed in Venezuela. This is because roasting is a process that originated in Spain.

After 14 minutes, which is how long it usually takes for the coffee maker to brew coffee, I set out to serve and enjoy it.

I loved enjoying this experience, even though this coffee isn't really one of my favorites. I really enjoyed reminiscing about the past, remembering old times, and chatting with my dear @aly.squid, as we usually do over a delicious cup of coffee.

I bid you farewell for now, very happy to have been here, telling you a little about this brand which, as I said, has a rather interesting history in the whole process of coffee production and sales in Venezuela. I'll be back here very soon, as I have other interesting things to share with you about my coffee habits. Take care, and see you next time.
