In Death, Let's seek truth, not Speculations.

"In 2021, I recall a frightening experience. My family had just moved to a new apartment, and I was still learning my tailoring skills. One evening, as I was closing up at my learning center, my mom called me to pick up an item from one of her friends.

As at the time I was leaving, the weather changed, and it was about to rain. I quickly got to her friend's place, picked up the item, and left. I took a bike to the junction near my house and began walking home.

As I stood by the roadside, trying to cross, I suddenly found myself surrounded by people staring at me. The first voices I heard were, 'She's awake! She's alive! Thank God🙏!' I struggled to process what was happening as I tried to stand up, but I fell back down.

Luckily, I only suffered minor injuries. I later learned that a car had been approaching as I tried to cross the road, and I must have fallen unconscious. Although no one confirmed whether the car actually hit me, I believe it didn't, as my injuries were minor."

I suspect that I was already feeling unwell before I left my mum's friend's place, likely due to the cold. I remember wearing an armless gown that day, which made me even more sensitive to the cold. As someone who's extremely sensitive to cold, it's safe to say that cold and I aren't best of friends😊 .

So, I think I was afraid when I thought the car was going to hit me, and I lost consciousness. Luckily, I was taken home by two Amotekun men, a popular security corps in my state at that time, who ensured my safe return home. Although I was shaken, I was able to walk home without much difficulty."

You might be wondering why I am sharing this 😊?
Well....

This experience came flooding back when I read about someone I admire who had a similar experience. She had gone to a hotel for some personal time on her 30th birthday and suddenly slumped in the bathroom, ending up hospitalized.

My mom's words after my incident resonated with me, she said : 'Lord, I thank you. Many would have thought this was something else, like she was used and dropped by ritualists if people were not there'. Her statement made me realize how quickly people jump to conclusions about others misfortunes, even without evidence.

Imagine if this person died in the hotel room, some might have said what was she doing alone in an hotel room, some would have sworn that she was killed by a man and left her there.

It's astonishing how people speculate about the circumstances surrounding someone's death, spreading rumors and assumptions. The deceased can't defend themselves, and those who care about them are left to deal with the hurtful comments.

Well, I just hope that when we're gone, our stories will be told by those who love us, and that we'll be allowed to rest in peace."
