Reflexiones desde un domingo de Ramos [esp] [eng]

La riqueza teológica de la celebración del Domingo de Ramos es espectacular, ya que no solo se da inicio a la Semana Santa para los cristianos, sino que revivimos el paso del triunfo glorioso del Señor a su entrega a la humanidad por medio de su sufrimiento y muerte en la cruz.

En efecto, en este día los Ramos se bendicen, recordanos que con palmas de este tipo fue recibido Jesús en la ciudad santa de Jerusalén, bajo las vivas del ¡Hosanna, Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor! Pero luego, en esta misma celebración, se hace la lectura de la Pasión del Señor, según la relatan los Evangelios. Dos escenas que han sido puestas en contraste para este día con una intención particular, lo podemos explicar de las siguientes dos maneras:

La vida está entre la gloria y la cruz

En la entrada gloriosa de Jesús en Jerusalén junto a su sufrimiento y muerte en la cruz podemos ver la imagen de la vida, ya que esta transcurre entre alegrías y tristezas, éxitos y fracasos, noches y días, aplausos y señalamientos, etc. Y pareciera que Jesús pasa por todo esto para recordarnos en nuestros momentos de dolor que el mismo no será para siempre, así como también en los momentos de alegría y/o lo que podamos llamar gloria que la misma tampoco será, al menos aquí en la tierra, eterna, todo lo contrario si la gloria de aquí no pasa por las pruebas de la vida, es dudosa su realidad.

Esto me recuerda al temor de las personas exitosas que, por paradójico que pueda sonar, es - nada más y nada menos - que el mismo éxito, ya que puede hacerles caer en la trampa de que todo está bien, ya se alcanzaron todas las metas y, por lo tanto, puede llevar a bajar la guardia, cosa que no sucede en los fracasos, ya que la imaginación y creatividad, ganas de mejorar, se intensifican.

Aplicado esto a nuestra cotidianidad podemos decir que tiene que ver con el peligro de bajar la guardia porque todo está bien, pasando por alto que hay cosas que están más allá de nuestras manos que nos afectan e ignorando incluso que somos seres falibles que en cualquier momento podemos equivocarnos, todo esto es la cruz, no obstante, no nos desanimamos porque fuimos creados para la gloria.

La entrega de la vida es el sentido de la misma

Un detalle importante en la pasión y muerte de Jesús está en el hecho de que a Él no le quitan la vida, sino que Él mismo la entrega. En efecto, hay numerosas escenas del Evangelio donde pudieron darle muerte, pero Él sencillamente se abrió paso entre ellos y se libró de sus intenciones y de sus manos. Esto nos deja el más hermoso y grande testimonio de amor, y junto con Él, del sentido de toda vida, ya que si no nos damos a los demás no expresamos la grandeza de nuestro ser y por muchas buenas cosas que llevemos dentro o que tengamos si no lo compartimos es como si no existieran.

Esto es como el que sabe mucho, pero no transmite esa sabiduría, ¿quién sabe que sabe?, con la entrega de Cristo en la cruz, toda vida que se dona tiene también un sentido de divinidad y sabe a eternidad. Por ello, nos impresiona siempre la figura de las madres y los padres que se dan de manera total a sus hijos, o el papel que en la sociedad cumplen las personas que se dedican a las buenas obras en favor de los demás.

La vida es para disfrutarla, la Semana Santa es una muy buena oportunidad para descubrir como la entrega desinteresada a los demás llena la vida de sentido, nos permite disfrutarla totalmente, descubrir la gloria en los sencillos actos en favor de los demás no tiene precio. Existen personas que en la historia de la humanidad nos lo enseñan y, sobre todo, existe un hombre clavado en una cruz que selló la verdad eterna de este estilo de vida.

ENGLISH VERSION

The theological richness of the celebration of Palm Sunday is spectacular, since it not only marks the beginning of Holy Week for Christians, but we also relive the passage of the Lord's glorious triumph to his surrender to humanity through his suffering and death on the cross.

Indeed, on this day the Palms are blessed, reminding us that it was with palms of this type that Jesus was received in the holy city of Jerusalem, under the cheers of "Hosanna, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" But then, in this same celebration, the Passion of the Lord is read, as told by the Gospels. Two scenes that have been put in contrast for this day with a particular intention, we can explain it in the following two ways:

Life is between glory and the cross

In the glorious entry of Jesus into Jerusalem together with his suffering and death on the cross we can see the image of life, since it passes between joys and sorrows, successes and failures, nights and days, applause and accusations, etc. And it seems that Jesus goes through all this to remind us in our moments of pain that it will not be forever, as well as in the moments of joy and/or what we can call glory that it will not be either, at least here on earth, eternal, on the contrary if the glory here does not go through the tests of life, its reality is doubtful.

This reminds me of the fear of successful people that, as paradoxical as it may sound, is - nothing more and nothing less - than success itself, since it can make them fall into the trap that everything is fine, all the goals have been reached and, therefore, it can lead to lowering their guard, something that does not happen in failures, since the imagination and creativity, the desire to improve, are intensified.

Applied to our daily lives we can say that it has to do with the danger of lowering our guard because everything is fine, ignoring that there are things that are beyond our control that affect us and even ignoring that we are fallible beings who can make mistakes at any time, all this is the cross, however, we do not get discouraged because we were created for glory.

The surrender of life is the meaning of life

An important detail in the passion and death of Jesus is in the fact that He is not killed, but that He gives His life himself. Indeed, there are numerous scenes in the Gospel where they could have killed him, but He simply walked away from them and escaped their intentions and their hands. This leaves us with the most beautiful and greatest testimony of love, and together with Him, of the meaning of all life, since if we do not give ourselves to others we do not express the greatness of our being and for many good things that we carry within or that we have if we do not share them it is as if they did not exist.

This is like someone who knows a lot, but does not transmit that wisdom, who knows that he knows? With the surrender of Christ on the cross, every life that is given also has a sense of divinity and knows of eternity. That is why we are always impressed by the figure of mothers and fathers who give themselves totally to their children, or the role that people who dedicate themselves to good works in favor of others play in society.

Life is to be enjoyed, Holy Week is a very good opportunity to discover how the selfless giving to others fills life with meaning, allows us to enjoy it fully, discovering the glory in the simple acts in favor of others is priceless. There are people in the history of humanity who teach us this and, above all, there is a man nailed to a cross who sealed the eternal truth of this lifestyle.
