Celebración de la cruz de mayo 2024 [esp] [eng]

Este mes de mayo tiene muchas celebraciones especiales no solo religiosas sino de otros tipos, en esta publicación no obstante me detengo en comentar una celebración religiosa, la de la Cruz de mayo, porque es primera vez que participó en una. Todo empezó porque me gustó mucho cómo fue amenizada una misa el 3 de mayo, día propio de esta conmemoración, puesto que le pedí a unos amigos que para el día de ayer domingo pudiésemos hacer la celebración propia de este día, que son cantos propios a la cruz, tonos y décimas más concretamente.
Como tengo unos amigos con una familia que toca este género musical no fue muy difícil de organizarlo, de la misma manera aunque fue una preparación precipitada para hacer la primera vez hubo una buena participación, pero sobre todo, y es lo que voy a compartir aquí, el sentido teológico de este celebración, llena de muchos elementos propio de nuestra cultura del tamunangue, es espectacular.
Cruz gloriosa
En primer lugar, es de notar que la cruz de mayo en muchos lugares de América está adornada con flores, indicándonos no solo el comienzo de un mes muy hermoso donde por las lluvias empiezan a florecer ciertos árboles, y tenemos ambientes más coloridos, más llenos de vida en este sentido. La teología detrás de esto es también muy hermosa porque para los cristianos nos indica que la cruz no es símbolo de sacrificio, dolor y derrota sino que es el símbolo de la victoria de la luz de Dios sobre la oscuridad, del triunfo del amor sobre el odio y la certeza de que tiene sentido una vida entregada para el bien de los demás, pues, allí no vemos muerte sino vida, puesto que El que estuvo allí clavado, realmente resucitó.
"Nadie tiene amor más grande que el que da su vida por los que ama" dijo Jesucristo una vez a sus Apóstoles, y es en su sacrificio en la cruz donde esta enseñanza llega a su plenitud ya que a Él no le quitan la vida sino que voluntariamente la dona, por lo que su entrega en libertad es lo que le da la autoridad para tomar esa vida de nuevo y así demostrarnos la fuerza de su amor porque la cruz no es solo un camino para la vida eterna sino que allí mismo se manifiesta lo más grande de Dios, su gloria, un amor incondicional.
Cruz bendita
"Por sus llagas hemos sido curados" dice otro texto bíblico, lo cual tiene una relación también con la Cruz y la celebración de la cual ella es destinataria en mayo, puesto que si es la vida la que triunfa sobre la muerte se nos está queriendo decir que todo aquello que promueve la vida es querido por Dios. Es así como en este día, como lo realizamos en la celebración de ayer, se elevan oraciones de súplica al Señor por medio del culto que se le da a través de los cantos y ciertos poemas que se dicen.
Es así como la cruz no se entiende en el cristianismo como una maldición sino más bien como una bendición, es cuestión de perspectivas, y como el que da la vida en la cruz es Dios, tiene el poder de transformar todo lo oscuro que en primer momento allí hay con las cosas más hermosas que podamos imaginar. Es así como desde la cruz se nos dan regalos para nuestra fe como el Bautismo, la Eucaristía, la misericordia divina, etc.
Cruz y cruces
Lo más interesante de esta celebración es el elemento humano, presente en primer lugar, lo cual me llama la atención, a través de cantos de tamunangue, género musical propio de la cultura de mi tierra, pues, a traves de ellos se puede alabar a Dios. Ahora bien, más allá de esto también es interesante relacionar el sentido de lo que hemos dicho sobre una cruz gloriosa y bendita con las Cruces que llevamos los seres humanos como puede ser una enfermedad, un dolor, algún problema o dificultad, cosas de las que ninguna vida humana es indiferente, de hecho es parte de nuestra misma condición.
Es por ello que me parece muy hermosa esta celebración porque es una invitación a que podamos conseguir en nuestras cruces aquello que aunque no le dé sentido pleno nos ayude a lidiar con ellas cada día. Puesto que si la cruz es inevitable vale la pena que aprendamos a darle algún sentido que mejor que uno lleno de Gloria, de luz y que nos traiga alguna bendición. Pienso que debemos dejar de quedarnos tanto por las cosas que nos pasan y aprender a ser agradecido con lo que tenemos y sobrellevar las cosas difíciles que nos han tocado con una mejor actitud, pues, al final, no son las cosas que nos pasan lo que arruinan nuestra vida, sino como es nuestra actitud ante estas cosas, en efecto, una misma cosa puede ser motivo para que algunas personas se hundan, así como ser motivo para que otras personas sigan adelante con más fuerza.

This month of May has many special celebrations, not only religious ones but also of other types. In this publication, however, I will focus on commenting on a religious celebration, that of the May Cross, because it is the first time I have participated in one. It all started because I really liked how a mass was enlivened on May 3rd, the proper day for this commemoration, since I asked some friends that for yesterday, Sunday, we could do the celebration proper for this day, which are specific songs to the cross, tones and décimas more specifically.
As I have some friends with a family that plays this musical genre, it was not very difficult to organize it. In the same way, although it was a rushed preparation for doing it for the first time, there was a good participation, but above all, and this is what I am going to share here, the theological meaning of this celebration, full of many elements typical of our tamunangue culture, is spectacular.
Glorious Cross
In the first place, it is worth noting that the May Cross in many places in America is adorned with flowers, indicating not only the beginning of a very beautiful month where due to the rains certain trees begin to bloom, and we have more colorful environments, more full of life in this sense. The theology behind this is also very beautiful because for Christians it indicates that the cross is not a symbol of sacrifice, pain and defeat but rather it is the symbol of the victory of God's light over darkness, of the triumph of love over hatred and the certainty that a life given for the good of others makes sense. There, we do not see death but life, since the one who was nailed there, truly resurrected.
"No one has greater love than the one who gives his life for those he loves," Jesus Christ once said to his Apostles, and it is in his sacrifice on the cross where this teaching reaches its fullness since his life is not taken from him but rather he donates it voluntarily, so his surrender in freedom is what gives him the authority to take that life back again and thus show us the strength of his love because the cross is not only a path to eternal life but there itself the greatest thing of God is manifested, his glory, an unconditional love.
Blessed Cross
"By his wounds we have been healed," says another biblical text, which also has a relationship with the Cross and the celebration of which it is the recipient in May, since if it is life that triumphs over death we are being told that everything that promotes life is loved by God. Thus, on this day, as we did in yesterday's celebration, prayers of supplication are raised to the Lord through the worship given to him through songs and certain poems that are said.
In this way, the cross is not understood in Christianity as a curse but rather as a blessing, it is a matter of perspectives, and since the one who gives life on the cross is God, he has the power to transform everything dark that is there at first with the most beautiful things we can imagine. Thus, from the cross we are given gifts for our faith such as Baptism, the Eucharist, divine mercy, etc.
Cross and crosses
The most interesting thing about this celebration is the human element, present in the first place, which catches my attention, through songs of tamunangue, a musical genre typical of the culture of my land, since through them it is possible to praise God. Now, beyond this, it is also interesting to relate the meaning of what we have said about a glorious and blessed cross with the crosses that we human beings carry, such as an illness, pain, some problem or difficulty, things to which no human life is indifferent, in fact, it is part of our very condition.
That is why I find this celebration so beautiful because it is an invitation to find in our crosses that which, although it does not give it full meaning, helps us to deal with them every day. Since if the cross is inevitable, it is worth learning to give it some meaning, what better than one full of Glory, light, and that brings us some blessing. I think that we should stop dwelling so much on the things that happen to us and learn to be grateful for what we have and face the difficult things that have touched us with a better attitude, because in the end, it is not the things that happen to us that ruin our lives, but rather our attitude towards these things, in effect, the same thing can be a reason for some people to sink, as well as being a reason for other people
