The Society we all Desire
The society is seen as a group pf people living together in an organized community. However, a more complex definition would include all the entities that make up the organized community, thus the infrastructures, the cultures, the institutions and so on and so forth.
The discourse of the human society is a broad one that sociologists take turns to give their perceptions which have remained inexhaustive as there are always more to what is said. This means that the discourse of the human society is a broad course which requires a big volume to exhaust.
This is why this writing is directed towards a facet of the broad discourse. I shall highlight in the following few paragraphs the concept of the human society with specific reference to human living.
The human person is the primary element of the society on which other components are established and for which they function. Every society is established within a space, that is, a territory.
In these territories, there are various kinds of people, the educated and the non educated, the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak and so forth. By nature, the society is comprised of these kinds of persons and as such the society remains a phenomenon of unequal standards and continuous struggle for a better life.
The weak struggle to be strong and also the strong work harder to be stronger, therefore, a life of constant battle. This implies that people always have a desire for a better life. There is always this desire for a better society where there will be no pain and sorrow, although it's almost not realiseable.
In the human society, there is the organization of the governing body and the governed. The governing body has the responsibility to act on behalf of the majority to realize a common desire, that is, achieving more heights.
The society remains stagnant or even retrogress in the case where the right perons are not placed in authority to represent the people. This means that the work of governing is a task that requires expertise and therfore great capability.
It would therfore be inappropriate to even desire to be in such office of leading a people knowing that you don't posses the the capability to function in that capacity.
In this case it is most often the case of seeking self worth at the expense of the suffering of the majority in the community.
This is the evil which we find ourselves in. People suffer for the selfishness of others. It implies the lack of love for humanity. In fact, it is a life of inhumanity to man.
But not only the governing body is guilty for the ills in the society. The citizens who are indifferent to the success of the society also contribute. The young or even old ones who fraud others or go to rob others are propagators of societal failures.
The citizen who is not ready to pay his tax, who does not pay attention to the cleanliness of the state and the promotion of good morals in the human society contribute to the societal ills.
By implication, we are all responsible for making the society which we all desire. It's high time we woke up and said no to the negative practices which we carry out of are accomplices of.
It is high time we shuned selfishness and project a life of service for it is in service of others that we fully express our humanness and our dignity.
The principle of the natural law requires us to love others. When we love, we wish for the good of the other and not just ours. The society we desire is right there but expects us to make it what it should be.
