If you like those epic fighting anime, shonen type, and you love a good parody, this one's for you! Imagine for a second that One Punch Man and Harry Potter had a son; that's how crazy and cool the mix is ​​here.. it's about Mash, a guy who lives in a world where magic is EVERYTHING.. but here comes the different (or not so much): the boy was born without a drop of magic.. instead of crying or hiding, the guy took all that energy and put it into another hobby: a brutal physical workout!

Through sweat and effort, he developed a strength that is already from another planet... and let me tell you, Mash is not your typical shonen protagonist (or so I would like to say, if he didn't already have so many similarities with others at this time).. he's as relaxed as Saitama, the invincible hero of One Punch Man, and as calm as Mob from Mob Psycho 100... that attitude that doesn't bother him at all, makes him different in a genre that is always full of passion and determination... I found it super fresh—and at the same time funny—to see someone who doesn't get stressed out about anything, but who still solves problems that anyone would take super seriously... whether it's facing a super-powerful wizard or simply ignoring a small obstacle, Mash's relaxed attitude can leave you dying of laughter, and even inspired.

Hola a todos, queridos compañeros Otakus, espero que el día de hoy la estén pasando genial, hoy quiero hablarles de un anime bastante famoso, se hizo super conocido por su premisa y por el alcance tan gigantesco que tuvo uno de sus openings, pero luego de verlo, quiero compartir mis opiniones, hoy les hablaré de: MASHLE. Si a ti te gustan esos animes de peleas épicas, tipo shonen, y te encanta una buena parodia, este es para ti! Imagínate por un segundo que One Punch Man y Harry Potter tuvieran un hijo; así de demente y genial es la mezcla aquí.. la cosa va de Mash, un tipo que vive en un mundo donde la magia es TODO.. pero aquí viene lo diferente (o no tanto): el chico nació sin una gota de magia.. en lugar de ponerse a llorar o esconderse, el tipo agarró toda esa energía y la metió en otro pasatiempo: ¡un entrenamiento físico brutal!

A punta de sudor y esfuerzo, desarrolló una fuerza que ya es de otro planeta.. y déjame decirte, Mash no es el típico protagonista shonen (o eso me gustaría decir, si no tuviera ya en esta época tantas similitudes con otros).. es tan relajado como Saitama, el héroe invencible de One Punch Man, y tan tranquilo como Mob de Mob Psycho 100.. esa actitud que no le perturba nada, lo hace diferente en un género que siempre está a full de pasión y determinación a tope.. me pareció súper fresco—y a la vez de risas—ver a alguien que no se estresa por nada, pero que igual resuelve los problemas que cualquiera tomaría súper en serio.. ya sea enfrentándose a un mago superpoderoso o simplemente ignorando un obstáculo pequeño, la actitud relajada de Mash puede dejarte muerto de risa y, hasta inspirado.

This anime takes all the action from classic shonen and mixes it with the magical, almost fairy tale-like world of magic schools. It’s like they took the idea of ​​​​Harry Potter’s Hogwarts, with all its weird stuff and mysterious rules, and kicked it up the ass by throwing in a protagonist who’s an idiot with unimaginable power. Seriously, it’s full of jokes about the typical magic school clichés, from haunted classrooms to teachers who look like they came from an asylum, but they grab each thing and make fun of it with a spark that doesn’t feel forced at all, at least not all the time. It’s not just that the anime makes fun of the thing that inspired it; it uses that humor to show how ridiculous it is to judge someone just by whether or not they have magic.

The comedy in MASHLE comes out naturally most of the time, you laugh at the absurdity of the situation: imagine that, instead of casting complicated spells, Mash solves everything with muscle and brute force... those moments are the ones that remind you that, even in a world full of magic and danger like a sorcery school, not everything has to be so serious, and although the series always gives you intense and well-made action scenes, the humor always lowers the tension a bit so that everything remains cool and fun. I spent my time laughing at some things, and at other times the adrenaline rose to the max with the fights.

And speaking of fights, the way MASHLE balances laughter with action is interesting, you get epic, almost movie-like battles sandwiched between moments of comedy—like when Mash, with the most serious face in the world, solves what should be a magical duel to the death by simply beating the crap out of his opponent, it's a super clever way of turning the typical underdog/genius story on its head, sometimes it feels like the series is making a little bit of fun of the idea that brute force solves everything, but at the same time it celebrates that strength in such an exaggerated way that it leaves you with your mouth open.

Este anime agarra la acción a millón del shonen clásico y la mezcla con el mundo mágico, casi de cuento de hadas, de las escuelas de magia. Es como si agarraran la idea de Hogwarts de Harry Potter, con todas sus vainas raras y reglas misteriosas, y le dieran una patada en el trasero metiendo a un protagonista que es un idiota con un poder inimaginable, en serio, ¡está lleno de chistes a los clichés típicos de las escuelas de magia.. desde salones embrujados hasta profesores que parecen salidos de un manicomio, pero cada cosa la agarran y la ponen en ridículo con una chispa que no se siente forzada para nada, al menos no todo el tiempo, no es solo que el anime se burle de lo que lo inspiró; usa ese humor para mostrar lo ridículo que es juzgar a alguien solo por si tiene o no magia.

La comedia en MASHLE sale natural la mayoris de veces, te ríes de lo absurdo de la situación: imagínate que, en vez de tirar hechizos complicados, Mash resuelve todo a punta de músculo y fuerza bruta.. esos momentos son los que te recuerdan que, incluso en un mundo lleno de magia y peligro como una escuela de hechicería, no todo tiene que ser tan serio, y aunque la serie siempre te da escenas de acción intensas y bien hechas, el humor siempre baja un poco la tensión para que todo siga siendo chévere y divertido. Yo me la pasé riendo de algunas cosas, y en otros momentos la adrenalina subía a tope con las peleas.

Y hablando de peleas, la forma en que MASHLE equilibra la risa con la acción es interesante, te encuentras con batallas épicas, casi de película, metidas entre momentos de comedia—como cuando Mash, con la cara más seria del mundo, resuelve lo que debería ser un duelo mágico a muerte simplemente dándole una paliza a su oponente, es una manera súper inteligente de darle la vuelta a la típica historia del menospreciado o del genio, a veces parece que la serie se está burlando un poquito de la idea de que la fuerza bruta lo soluciona todo, pero al mismo tiempo celebra esa fuerza de una manera tan exagerada que te deja con la boca abierta.

But if there’s one thing that made me think, it was the social theme that lies beneath it… in Mash’s world, magic isn’t just something cool to show off, it’s the currency with which it’s measured who’s more important! Those who don’t have magic are seen as insignificant and sent to the marginalized corner, but Mash’s story totally turns that idea on its head… by using only her brute force instead of magic, she not only puts the brakes on the strict rules of her world, but also shows how ugly it is to discriminate against people based on whether or not they were born with a natural gift… it’s a soft criticism, but one that gets to you, that adds another interesting thing to what, otherwise, would seem like just another action anime to laugh at for a while.

And, obviously, we have to talk about the opening of “Bling-Bang-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts. That song is a blast! The catchy rhythm and the energy they put into it put you in the mood for the series right away, I couldn't stop humming it and, more than once, I tried to copy the dance steps that went viral on social media... it's one of those openings that stays stuck in your head after the episode ends, it's great to see the impact that a good song can still have, and how it can be a perfect catapult to make a series become known.

Now, here's where I get a little more serious... despite everything how great and fun it is, MASHLE isn't that completely fantastic as many argue, in a world full of shonen fighting anime, the series goes a lot down paths that we've seen a thousand times before... the action scenes are brutal, the comedy is okay, sometimes... and the parodies are great; but if you're looking for a deep story that blows your mind, you won't find that here, no matter how much the anime tries to sell you "serious" things. The anime knows who it's talking to and doesn't hesitate to give you that kind of quick, mind-bending entertainment that the genre has always had... it's made more to make us laugh and get our adrenaline pumping than to tell us a new or interesting story, and that's where I can't take it so seriously... other anime like One Punch Man, offer you comedy, but the story and the characters are so interesting, that it really offers you something unique, here on the contrary, the great things that make it stand out, feel recycled.

Pero si hay algo que me dejó pensando fue el tema social que tiene por debajo.. en el mundo de Mash, la magia no es solo algo genial para mostrar, ¡es la moneda con la que se mide quién es más importante! los que no tienen magia son vistos como poca cosa y los mandan para el rincón de los marginados, pero la historia de Mash le da una vuelta total a esa idea.. al usar solo su fuerza bruta en vez de magia, no solo le para el carro a las reglas estrictas de su mundo, sino que también deja en evidencia lo feo que es discriminar a la gente por si nació o no con un don natural.. es una crítica suave, pero que te llega, que le añade otra cosa interesante a lo que, si no, parecería solo otro anime de acción para reírse un rato.

Y, obviamente hay que hablar del opening de “Bling-Bang-Bang-Bang-Born” de Creepy Nuts. ¡Esa canción es un temazo! El ritmo pegajoso y la energía que le meten te ponen en onda con la serie al toque, yo no podía dejar de tararearla y, más de una vez, intenté copiar los pasos de baile que se hicieron virales en redes.. es de esos openings que se te quedan pegados en la cabeza después de que termina el episodio, es genial ver el impacto que aún puede tener uns buena canción, y como puede ser una catapulta perfecta para hacer que una serie se haga conocida.

Ahora, aquí es donde me pongo un poquito más serio.. a pesar de todo lo genial y lo divertido que es, MASHLE tampoco es que sea completamente fantástico como muchos argumentan, en un mundo lleno de animes de peleas shonen, la serie se va mucho por caminos que ya hemos visto mil veces.. las escenas de acción son brutales, la comedia está bien, algunas veces.. y las parodias son geniales; pero si buscas una historia profunda que te vuele la cabeza, aquí no encontrarás eso, por mucho que el anime trate de venderte cosas "serias". El anime sabe a quién le habla y no duda en darte ese tipo de entretenimiento rápido y para vacilar que siempre ha tenido el género.. está hecha más para hacernos reír y subir la adrenalina que para contarnos una historia nueva o interesante, y ahí es donde no puedo tomarlo tan en serio.. otros animes como One Punch Man, te ofrecen comedia, pero la historia y los personajes son tan interesantes, que realmente te ofrece algo único, aquí al contrario, las grandes cosas por las que destaca, se siente reciclado.

I had a good time seeing how they make fun of the typical magic schools and how ridiculous it is to see a guy who fixes everything with just his muscle, it's the kind of anime that doesn't take itself seriously at all and laughs at its own exaggerations, which makes it good if you're looking for something relaxing and to pass the time.. but, if you're someone who loves complicated stories and deep character development, MASHLE may seem a bit simple to you, because it is. It's a show that's more about giving you laughs on the fly and hardcore action than getting into the deep feelings or philosophising of the characters, and that can be both an advantage and a disadvantage, I would give MASHLE a 7/10, it's not perfect, and you can tell it's not trying to be a deep masterpiece, but what it gives you, it gives it with desire and with a lot of humor...

The mix of a One Punch Man style protagonist with a world that doesn't stop copying Harry Potter clichés creates an entertaining and different experience, it's an anime that knows what's good about it and isn't afraid to be silly, even if that means going outside the typical shonen... so, if you're looking for an anime that will make you laugh a lot, with full action and good parody, I recommend you give it a chance, maybe you'll like it, maybe not... you won't know until you see it and judge it with your own eyes. Para mí, la serie fue como un revoltijo de cosas.. me la pasé bien viendo cómo se burlan de las típicas escuelas de magia y lo ridículo que es ver a un tipo que arregla todo a punta de puro músculo, es el tipo de anime que no se toma en serio para nada y que se ríe de sus propias exageraciones, lo que lo hace bueno si buscas algo relax y para pasar el rato.. pero, si eres de los que ama las historias complicadas y que los personajes tengan un desarrollo profundo, MASHLE te puede parecer un poco simple, porque lo es. Es un show que va más por darte risas al toque y acción a lo bestia que por meterse en los sentimientos profundos o en filosofadas de los personajes, y eso puede ser tanto una ventaja, como una desventaja, yo le daría a MASHLE un 7/10, no es perfecto, y se nota que no busca ser una obra maestra profunda, pero lo que te da, te lo da con ganas y con mucho humor..

La mezcla de un protagonista onda One Punch Man con un mundo que no para de copiar los clichés de Harry Potter crea una experiencia entretenida y diferente, es un anime que sabe qué tiene de bueno y no le da miedo ser tonto, aunque eso signifique salirse de lo típico del shonen.. así que, si andas buscando un anime que te haga reír un montón, con acción a full y buena parodia, te recomiendo que le des una oportunidad, tal vez te guste, tal vez no.. no sabrás hasta verlo y juzgarlo con tus propios ojos.
