RE: Prison Break: Real or Lots of Movie Tricks

What you say about Michael Scofield and his master plan is what makes the show so addictive. I remember every episode being like, "Wow, how did he come up with that?" It's the perfect mix of wit, tension, and that "anything can go wrong" factor. The story of his IQ and his savior complex gives it a super interesting depth. Now, as for your question about whether anyone could do something like that in real life... I really doubt it. And I think that's the magic of the show, right? It follows all the rules of fiction. You know it's exaggerated and that many of the escapes are almost miraculous, but that's precisely what draws you in.

I really liked how you summed it up: "Our brain enjoys that escape from realism." It's exactly that. We love to dream that a mind can be so brilliant as to circumvent the impossible. It's a reminder that sometimes, what we most want to see on screen is a story that makes us believe anything is possible, even if it's just for a moment.

I think I agree with that you can’t possibly break out in real life. It’s not real because he also broke out of another prison with luck!

Thanks for your detailed comment.
