As I went along, I realized what you mention. That feeling of “silence” after a good book, where your mind is still processing everything, became a “silence of bewilderment”. And not the good kind. It's as if the author tried to spin something super complex and, in the end, she got the skein completely tangled. And the theme of female empowerment.... OMG! I'm with you one hundred percent.

I'm glad you are. And you're apt at that description. Silence of bewilderment was exactly how I felt. If you can't handle complex themes, just steer clear off them.
