Earning Crypto with POSH: My Hiveposh Registration Experiment
I recently came across a post from a moderator in the holozing community explaining a way to earn staked Zing tokens by holding POSH tokens. I gathered that these POSH tokens can be earned by sharing Hive posts to Reddit.
The post mentioned that Twitter integration had been discontinued due to high API costs, but Reddit sharing was still enabled. As someone interested in potentially earning crypto rewards, I decided to give it a try.
Here are the basic steps I took:
- Went to the website https://hiveposh.com/ and logged in with my Hive account using keychain. This instantly connected my Hive profile.
2 . I connected my Reddit account which I've had for a while but don't recall choosing the odd username.
3 . I registered an account on hiveposh.com to allow tracking of my Reddit shares.
The site then displayed confirmation of my connected accounts - Twitter, and Reddit. I understand this also automatically shows my linked accounts on my Peakd profile.
My understanding so far on earning POSH tokens:
To earn POSH, you share post links from Hive front-ends by making posts on various subreddits. The difficult part seems finding subreddits that allow content from lesser known sites. You're not supposed to share in Hive-specific subreddits.
But they are currently allowing shares in r/holozing to help people try it out. Once shared, the @redditposh bot tracks your Reddit posts. Daily POSH rewards are divided based on post engagement. Then after 7 days, you receive the earned POSH tokens in your wallet.
I'm still learning exactly how this works, but wanted to outline the initial process of connecting my accounts. My next step is to test sharing some Hive posts to appropriate subreddits. I look forward to experimenting with this system that incentives spreading Hive content wider while potentially earning crypto.
The connection process seemed smooth, requiring just the Hive keychain login and Reddit credentials. I didn't notice anything unusual when granting account access. The site dashboard displays pending and earned POSH clearly.

It seems the amount earned per post share is calculated based on engagement, but the specifics remain unclear. The process appears transparent so far, though the payout criteria could be spelled out more explicitly.
Overall, this system may present an interesting way to incentivize spreading Hive content to new audiences. One approach could be to start small by sharing a few posts, then observe how the POSH rewards accrue over time. The goal would seemingly be to experiment across platforms and potentially earn crypto in the process.
Following the 7 day earnings period, it would be interesting to share thoughts on how viable this system looks for distributing more Hive content while stacking tokens. Updates could cover the optimal subreddit targets and engagement levels that seemed to drive higher POSH payouts.
In diving deeper, reviewing the site’s FAQ provides more details on how rewards are calculated. It notes that sharing posts in communities where they spark genuine discussion and interest is key. Simply spamming links across random subreddits is unlikely to be effective.
Finding these niche communities relevant to each post requires some trial and error. Reviewing subreddit rules around self-promotion and links is advised before sharing. Travel stories and photos might resonate well in related groups, while crypto/finance posts could drive discussion among investing subreddits.
The FAQ does warn that over-promotion bans will revoke earnings. So striking the right balance of sharing content without aggressiveness could be critical. But for those able to identify targeted subreddits and spark engagement, this system may present an opportunity.
In the end, strategically sharing Hive posts on Reddit could allow driving interest back to one’s blog, while also stacking POSH tokens in the process. But finding that optimal balance likely involves much experimentation. Ongoing updates on which targets drive the highest payouts could be invaluable for the community.
