A usual walk that will end soon
My son is a pre-schooler and his school is only about five minutes walk from our home. It is located in the next Purok but yes, it is just a walking distance.
Since the first day of school, we enjoyed walking together going to school. I remember the early days of school, we used to hold hands while walking. He is still so young that time and still afraid of the vehicles passing by.
How time flies so fast that this time he is trying to be independent. He seldom holds hand with me while walking. Most of the time he wants to walk ahead of me, and hide to a tree, to a tricycle or anything he can hide while we are walking and says bah when I am there.
Even in crossing the road, he doesn't like to hold hands anymore. I will check both sides and will say, let's go! And then he runs so fast.
I will go with him to the school, be there, wait for him and we will go home again together. I told him that someday, he will be going to school without me anymore. It's sad but that's life should be. I need to teach him now how to be careful in crossing the road.
One more month and their classes will end. Oh! Time really flies so fast. A usual morning walk every school days with him will end very soon.
For today's blog I will share to you our usual walk going to school. This will also remain in the Blockchain and this will serve as our remembrance along the roads.
Our house is near the road so when we go out, the road is in front of us. We will walk a few meters away and we will reach to a short bridge.
After the bridge is an Elementary School. This road is traffic and a lot of vehicles along the road during peak hours (around 7 in the morning and 3:30 in the afternoon) because many parents will deliver and fetch their children to and from school. This time it so quiet, because its almost 8 in the morning.
We then passed to the main road going to the main entrance of the Elementary School. Passing here, I always told my son that after the school year, he will be going on this school.
Along the road, we always noticed this tree with lot of fruits. I don't know what is it and if it is edible. Do you know about this? Please let me know.
We could go directly in this location and will pass to main gate of elementary school but we choose to turn right and pass along the residential houses because there were many trees that give shades along the road.
We passed by with this beautiful flower in front of a house. I like it's color, it gives smile and joy in the heart.
We continue walking while my son still creating a line on the sand while bringing a stick on his hand.
The road is quiet and I didn't see anyone outside of their house.
On the right side, I saw bougainvilleas in different colors. This must be a collection of the owner. They pile the flowers along along the road.
This one catches so much of my attention because of its bright color.
On the other side, the owner have a different choice. If others planted flowers, well they plant this chillies. They are so healthy and full of fruits. It really covered one side of heir fence. Probably, people here really loves spicy foods.
We then crossed another and last road and on this site, my son usually walk fast or run fast towards their school. Have you seen that tricycle parked along the road? Beside is their school.
At last we reached their school and in front of it is this house with high fence having beautiful and colorful flowers in it.
I wait for him from 8 until 10 in the morning. Going home, we will walk through another way which is towards near the elementary school.
At the end of this road is the entrance of the Elementary School.
Along the road, we always found this tree with a big fruit that looks like a coconut. This is knows as calabash tree or a miracle fruit. Many people use this as a medicine for some illness.
Another house owner loves to decorate their place with a lot of flowers and planted this along the road. They are in two colors, pink and purple.
I also saw this giant santan that blooms so well in bright red color.
Here's another white flower. I find it so cute.
Here's my son, wants to run and always go ahead of me.
This is our usual walk every morning during school days. One more month and we cannot do it anymore. He will be in the next level and will be joining in the big school.
To the parents, enjoy every moment with your child. Sleep with them, hug them, carry them if they want, let them eat, hold hands while walking, play with them because time flies so fast and you'll never noticed they no longer want those things. Time will come that they will enjoy more with the company of their friends than us. So, cherish the moment while you can.
Thank you so much for reading our walks that makes us smile and the same time brings realization to life.
