Where the fault lies

‎Hello everyone, I welcome you to my blog!

‎A lot has gone wrong in the world with inventions and users, but then who can we blame? In some cases, I'll blame the inventors, and in other cases, I'll blame the users. For this prompt, I'll be talking about the invention of drugs and how they've been used.

This image was generated using Chatgpt

‎For example, in the invention of cigarettes, I'll blame the inventors. While most people might not agree to this because clearly, humans have freewill and it is said that no one can force another into doing something that he knows wouldn't be safe for him. But this cigarettes producers, they know that the substance used is harmful, so why bother producing it?
‎On the packs, you'll see inscriptions like, "smokers are liable to die young", "contains nicotine" and then some very disturbing images of what smoking can cause. But yet, they sell it.

‎I find it funny when I see these cigarettes packets, and I always wonder, are these inscriptions supposed to stop people from buying the cigarettes? And if people should stop buying it, how would these producers survive? Are those inscriptions not a warning sign from them to the consumers?
‎I will blame them when people abuse this and get sick because, they know it is harmful, but yet they produce millions of it every year. It's just like giving a baby a candy, and then you tell the baby that the candy is harmful. He or she wouldn't care about that warning, because to him, if the candy was actually harmful, you wouldn't give it to him in the first place. The baby will only trust that you wouldn't want to harm him, so despite possible warnings about the candy, he'll still take it.

‎It is the same situation with cigarette smokers. How can you say that smokers are liable to die young, but yet you produce it and market it. Does that mean that these inventors want people to die?

‎Another scenario where I wouldn't blame the inventors, is the abuse of certain drugs by people. Some drugs, such as tramadol was supposed to be for pain relieve, but people have repurposed the intentions of the inventors, and now it is seen as a hard drug. Something that was supposed to be taken under special supervision of a trained and licensed medical personnel, is now seen at parties and in some homes with the purpose of getting high.
‎I can't blame the inventors for this because they didn't plan it this way. Even the packs says it should be taken under supervision, unlike the cigarettes that says smokers will die young, but they go ahead to produce it. In the part of the world where I come from, sometimes there are promo sales about this. Isn't it funny?

‎So in conclusion, some inventions that have gone wrong are not the fault of the inventors, instead, it is the users who repurpose these things to suit their fantasies.
‎But still, some inventors are to be blamed when their inventions are misused, especially if they were aware of what could go wrong, like the cigarettes example I gave above.

Scary pictures on cigarette packs don't stop people from smoking. Even though smoking cigarettes is a waste of money and health, people continue to smoke.

Yes, we can blame inventors with bad intentions, knowing no good can come from their creations.

The inventors has nothinh to do with the unwanted use of the drugs. They produced those drugs not to be used anyhow, but most people use them to harm themselves.
