A day of ruins

I know everyone have bad days sometimes; I mean, I've had bad days too, but these very day that I'm about to share, it wasn't just bad. I watched things tear apart in a few hours, and that really hurt.

The night before that fateful morning, I slept filling happy within myself. I had eaten a healthy dinner, spent some time online, chatting with friends, and I watched some funny video reels too. It wasn't a bad way to end the day, and when I got dizzy, I welcomed the warm embrace of the night, praying silently that the next day would be good, but, I later realized that we can't have all that we wish for.

At 5am, I woke up and turned on my phone. I wanted to check the class schedule for that day, and I saw that I was free till 12pm. I smiled because I could sleep a bit more, since there wasn't a need to rush.
I was still asleep when the buzzing of my phone woke me up. I rubbed my eyes and checked the caller; it was my friend, so I picked up.

"What's up?" I asked immediately I picked the call.

"Where are you?" My friend asked me.

"How do you mean? I'm at my place. Your call woke me up." I replied.

"You're still sleeping? We have a test in the next 20 minutes. Didn't you see the message?" She asked.

Immediately, the sleep left my eyes, and I sat up on my bed. I ended the call and went back to my departmental group chat, and I saw that my course rep had edited the class schedule, and we were to write a test on one of the hardest courses.
I, for one, always felt uneasy whenever we had a lecture on that course, so seeing that we had a test to write and I'd never even gone through my books for once, I was devastated.
I hurriedly had a bath. Unlike other days when I'd sit down and pick out clothes that'd suit my day, I didn't even bother with what I would wear. I threw on a shirt and a short, then I rushed out.
My friends kept calling my phone till I got to the venue for the test, and just when I had sat down, I realized that I didn't have a pen on me.

"Promise, do you have an extra pen with you?" I asked my friend.

"No, I don't. What's wrong with yours?" She asked me, and I told her that I had forgotten mine.

As a good friend, she reached out to some of my coursemates, and luckily for me, she was able to get a pen for me.
The lecturer came into the classroom. The frown on her face wasn't appealing at all; I shuddered at the thought of what to write in the test, but I took solace in the fact that I was sitting with my friends until the unimaginable happened.
The lecturer started switching the seats of people, and I was very unlucky to be sent to the front seat, where I sat, alone and isolated.
Out of panicking and frustration, I forgot the pen I was with wasn't mine, and I chewed on it. That was one of my many faults. Whenever I panicked, I snapped things or probably chewed on anything I had at hand.

The test started, and I couldn't write beyond my name and registration number, and there was no way to get help from anyone. I sat down there, confused. It didn't take long, some people began to submit their sheets, and my paper was still empty.
A girl came from behind and tried to help me, but as I wrote down the first words she said, the lecturer came over to the front seat, and sat beside me.Balls of sweat rolled down my face. The lecturer sat there till her time elapsed, and she took my empty sheet.

"Were you able to write anything?" My friend asked me when we left the classroom. I shook my head and kept mute. "Don't worry, it's just 10 marks. If you read for the exams, you can make up for it." Promise consoled, and I gave her a dry smile so she could stop talking.

We were told to head to the laboratory for practicals, so I and my friends rushed to the laboratory. I was still bothered about the test, but I decided to let it go and focus on the practicals which lasted for almost 5 hours.
We were finally done and the laboratory technician insisted that we submitted our report that same day, so everyone was in a hurry to finish up. Little did we know that some group of people had caused a great mishap.
After I finished writing my report, I went over to submit, just to see a lecturer threatening to subtract 10 marks from everyone that had done the practical with my group. Out of curiosity, I asked for her reasons, and she said the apples and eggs that were meant for the experiment were stolen, and none remained.

There was nothing we could do. So in a day, I saw myself losing marks in a course that everyone was so scared of failing.
At exactly 7pm, I and my friends left the school and headed to our various apartments. As I turned the key to my door lock and opened the door, I met a gruesome sight.
I had forgotten to turn off my shower, and my room was filled with water. Frustration got the better part of me. I was exhausted from everything that had happened, and looking at the scene, I became sadder.

"How will I start cleaning up this mess? What did I do to deserve this punishment?" I cried out.

There was no strength left in me to clean up the mess. I tiptoed into the room, lay on my bed, and slept off. All I wished for was that the day would end and a new dawn will break, because that day, I realized that some days, it never rains, but it pours, just as it did on this day.

@jennyzee1, you will find that if you use a tool like Google Docs, it will catch most of the errors when you write your stories and make the editing work lighter. See the screenshot of part of this story in Google Docs and how the incorrect words are underlined in blue.
