Pets provide emotional support, and I won't argue with anyone about that

I recently saw a funny image on the internet that said something like, "The depression crisis was so bad that they let me adopt a cat." Obviously, when I saw it, I found it very funny, but if we get a little serious, the truth is that pets or animals in general have many positive effects on us, so I can say with complete confidence that, from my perspective, pets help a lot emotionally.
These days we've been through a lot at home, too much I would say, things that have destabilized us emotionally and really brought our spirits down to below zero. One of the things that has helped us stay sane is that there are four little beings who are willing to give us all their love. When we come home feeling down because of how difficult life is, they always greet us with affection, waiting for petting and a hug.
So seeing how they trust us with all their being and are even able to fall asleep in our laps, I feel that it is one of the purest and deepest feelings that a human being can experience, and of course one of the purest and deepest loves that a human being will receive in its entirety for the simple fact of existing and loving these little ones back. So yes, life has been hard, and these days much more so than usual, but what does it matter if I can sit on the furniture and within seconds have all the kittens in the house on top of me?
