Anniversary Surprise Day [Esp-Eng]

Como les conté antes, mi esposo y yo tuvimos nuestra semana aniversario, en la que tratamos en lo posible de pasarla bien y hacer cosas especiales, aunque estas fueran sencillas. Han pasado 7 años desde que nos casamos, y a mi parecer eso es mucho, mucho tiempo, así que por supuesto que es un momento especial para nosotros, momento en el que es inevitable no volver un poquis al pasado y recordar tantas cosas vividas.

Cada año trae consigo nuevos retos y no tienen idea de cuantos hemos tenido, por supuesto que también aprendizajes y momentos que nos hacen cambiar para bien, y mirar atrás es también darnos cuenta de cuánto hemos crecido juntos. No todo ha sido sencillo, pero incluso en los días grises hemos encontrado motivos para agradecer y creo que eso es un gran logro. Esta semana fue como una manera de detenernos para celebrar no solo el tiempo que llevamos juntos, sino también lo que hemos logrado y también pensar en los sueños que aún queremos cumplir.

As I told you before, my husband and I celebrated our anniversary week, during which we tried as much as possible to have a good time and do special things, even if they were simple. It's been seven years since we got married, and in my opinion that's a long, long time, so of course it's a special moment for us, a moment when it's inevitable to look back a little and remember so many things we've experienced.

Each year brings new challenges, and you have no idea how many we've had. Of course, there have also been lessons learned and moments that have changed us for the better, and looking back also makes us realize how much we've grown together. Not everything has been easy, but even on the gray days we have found reasons to be thankful, and I think that's a great achievement. This week was a way for us to pause and celebrate not only the time we've spent together, but also what we've accomplished, and to think about the dreams we still want to fulfill.

Este momento por supuesto que es importante para nosotros, pero algo muy lindo que tenemos mi esposo y yo, es que en nuestra vida hay muchas personas que también lo ven como un acontecimiento importante y eso es algo que se siente súper lindo, notar que nuestros familiares y amigos, recuerdan la fecha y no dudan en felicitamos o enviar un mensaje haciéndonos saber que nos recuerdan, cada pequeño detalle que recibimos en estos días en medio de la rutina, esos gestos se convierten en grandes momentos compartidos que nos llenan el corazón y esos para mi son grandes gestos.

Pero este año recibimos una sorpresa que no esperábamos, mi esposo ha estado enfermo estos días, tenía un virus fuerte que lo mantuvo en cama varios días, así que parte de nuestra celebración, requirió que estuviera preparando te caliente y revisando si tenía fiebre o no, y la verdad por como se sentía Jesús, pues sabía que no podríamos hacer mucho estos días. Aun así, felizmente se sintió un poco mejor así que pudimos ir a la casa de mi mamá que nos había dicho para que cenaramos con ellos.

This moment is of course important to us, but something very nice that my husband and I have is that there are many people in our lives who also see it as an important event, and that is something that feels really nice, to notice that our family and friends remember the date and don't hesitate to congratulate us or send us a message letting us know that they remember us. Every little detail we receive during these days in the midst of our routine, these gestures become great shared moments that fill our hearts, and for me, these are great gestures.

But this year we received a surprise we didn't expect. My husband has been sick these past few days. He had a strong virus that kept him in bed for several days, so part of our celebration required me to be preparing hot tea and checking if he had a fever or not. And honestly, given how Jesús was feeling, I knew we wouldn't be able to do much these days. Even so, he happily felt a little better, so we were able to go to my mom's house, who had invited us to have dinner with them.

Solo que esa cena, era en realidad una fiesta sorpresa en la que estaban presentes varios de nuestros amigos y familiares, a quienes nos alegró muchísimo tener cercas ese día. Aunque la verdad no me encanta ser el centro de atención, ni nada que esté cerca de eso, aun así aprecié muchísimo el gesto y la pasé bien con mis seres queridos, y mi esposo pues también se divirtió mucho conversando con amigos y familia, así que fue también un buen momento para olvidarse un ratito de lo mal que lo había pasado esos días de malestar de gripe y fiebre.

Pasamos un rato agradable, con un poco de música y conversando sobre la vida y demás, y así se nos fue el tiempo, fue un momento bonito que sé que requiero esfuerzos para todos los que lo hicieron posible, y ese momento me hizo apreciar muchísimo más a las personas que con cariño y esmero se esfuerzan por aun con las ocupaciones de cada quien, también las preocupaciones y demás, hacen lo posible por compartir con las personas que quieren. Y si algo he aprendido en esta vida es que nunca se trata de grandes regalos ni celebraciones elaboradas, sino de la presencia y del deseo genuino de estar con uno en esos momentos.

Except that dinner was actually a surprise party attended by several of our friends and family members, whom we were very happy to have around us that day. Although I don't really like being the center of attention, or anything close to it, I still greatly appreciated the gesture and had a good time with my loved ones. My husband also had a lot of fun talking with friends and family, so it was also a good time to forget for a little while how bad I had felt during those days of flu and fever.

We had a nice time, with a little music and talking about life and other things, and that's how the time flew by. It was a beautiful moment that I know required effort from everyone who made it possible, and that moment made me appreciate even more the people who, with love and care, make an effort to share with the people they love, even with their own busy schedules, worries, and other concerns. And if I have learned anything in this life, it is that it is never about big gifts or elaborate celebrations, but about presence and a genuine desire to be with someone in those moments.

Así que, en mi semana aniversario, también hubo una fiestita especial en la que reímos, jugamos, conversamos y bailamos (más que nada los que si saben como hacerlo), pasamos un rato agradable con nuestros seres queridos y también, atesoramos en nuestras memorias nuevos recuerdos de los que hablar luego. Y aunque ya acabó nuestra semana aniversario, la verdad es que siempre, pero siempre es un buen momento para celebrar el estar junto a las personas que queremos.

So, during my anniversary week, there was also a special party where we laughed, played, talked, and danced (mostly those who know how to do it), spent a pleasant time with our loved ones, and also treasured new memories to talk about later. And although our anniversary week is over, the truth is that it's always, always a good time to celebrate being together with the people we love.
