One Step at a Time
Have you ever wondered how you could think of starting a business that requires mental and physical exhaustion?
I do. Haha
If you have read my intro blog, you'll know I used to teach in preschool for four years. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

When I was teaching, I'm just active half a day then I'll just lay down on bed after lunch since I'm too tired to move some more.
So weak.
If you do have kids you'll understand it's too tiring to play with them, and how much more teaching them in repetition.
Don't get me wrong, I do love them and I really enjoy time spent with them.
In this photo, I was a co-adviser with @tsuko but I haven't finished the school year and I entered a Global Missions Training course offered by Goducate.
I really came to their graduation to congratulate them while I was on training so please no question about my affection for kids. Haha
(I will share about my Goducate days on another blog.☺️)
Fast forward, I graduated the training after 6 months and yet, I didn't worked on what I had trained for-community works, the specialty I took. I went to Taguig, BGC to be exact to accompany my aunt who was in sensitive pregnancy that time.
City life wasn't for me, that's one thing I'm so sure of. I was so bored out of my wits since I really enjoy driving around in my motorbike. I didn't have it in Taguig-the freedom and peace of mind. I can't seem to live comfortably when I keep thinking of individuals here in province.
I went home after four months and that's when @Hallmarkey2023 opened the Chero Store. It's kind of smooth that I just naturally got employed and even got weekends to do my community/church works.
This picture was during the store's third anniversary.
My family wasn't necessarily happy when I did quit teaching but they will never understand what I'm going through and just keep going myself to what I think I could do.
In @hallmarkey2023's existence, I found an ideal friend, employer and a sister-in-Christ. We share the same values, outlooks and specially the priority in life. We share the same dream.
ONE STEP AT A TIME.
Only last year, when I started raising my own swine with her gentle push. I earned already; yes, with Sweeney's first parity piglets to pay for my previous loan in a cooperative (I used the money to buy layering chickens my Mom tended to and just gave up).
At the moment, going to have two breeders with Brenda in the picture. I'm getting impatient actually to add some more but one step at a time. I don't have enough money yet and knowledge with livestock business ain't sufficient too.
I'm staying put.
I keep dreaming and praying and doing what needs to be done at the moment.
Things I could do now is planting shrubs and any plants that is potential food for my soon to be added animals.
I need to have more bananas for trunks could be native pigs meals and even turkey's with rice bran. I need to replant more taro for it's swine's favorite even if it's high breed one. I need to have more ipil-ipil as I talked about how Brenda loves it.
Even this pineapple is potential food of native pigs that I wish to acquire. Any fruit could be their meal.
How I wish I could plant some corn too for native chickens.
That's Merida, going to keep her for a long time and she laid 12 eggs and hopefully it will successfully hatch soon.
I don't have native pigs, turkey, ducks yet but again and again, one step at a time.

My younger sister might join this platform soon and she is much of a writer than I am since she's really into writing novels. How I wish I could just absorb everything I have to learn about the platform right away. Haha I wanna teach her myself.

Yeah. Mantra. Wow. You have a word for it. Grateful for this avenue wherein I'll be able to tell myself things haha it's sort of collecting thoughts and sorting them in priority levels.
I'm not a fan of kids to be honest but I do love teaching them. Mine's special needs so they really require loads of patience, understanding, and a massive heart. Sometimes I lose them too but It does not take me long to find them again. 😀

Those cats aren't high breed and all their lives, they live here, in rice-eating country hahaha
And next project with hog-related business is to buy a native race- it's easier to raise them and less sensitive to sickness.
And yes, friendship and business partnership is the greatest combo one could have.

Ah no. Sweeney is a mixed Petrine and Duroc race, not on top breed but good enough. She's reproducing via Artificial Insemination. There's an AI services here in our place.
And I'll buy a mixed/meztiso hogs,planning to have 1 male and 2 females for a faster production. I'll put them there on the farm, far from residential area. They'll be eating rice bran with leafy vegetables and spoiled fruits.
I had a friend who raised pigs in New Zealand! hehehe
she really loved it - but the male was so big and so dangerous! his tusks were really really powerful! they have incredible jaws that can crush human bone to powder!!! wow!
so you need 3 pigs... one male and 2 female! that's cool! i think that's smart to have 2 females for that quicker production for sure!
are they expensive? how long will it take you to save for them?
They're so much cheaper than high breeds but it is worth my more than a month wage haha well, I'm pretty much hopeful.☺️

I need to purchase them in person. I already mentioned it to one of the church member where I volunteered on weekends and she said yes, she'll let me buy them as soon as they'll be weaned off. Funny coz they're really aren't born yet.😂

Sometimes I wake up feeling very overwhelmed and confused because I do not even know exactly what I want to do. I have been a teacher too before I moved on to pursue a bachelor's degree in English Education so I can totally relate to all you've written. Also like you, I've tried my hands on many skills ranging from planting to baking, teaching, dancing and currently I'm on writing fictions, I get so worn out sometimes because I have to manage learning to advance in writing with maintaining good grades as an undergraduate student but then, like you said, "one step at a time".😌
I hope we get it all figured out. And don't worry about navigating your way around Hive, it's a process. Very soon you'll look back and laugh about all the things you never knew that you would have known in future. Well-done friend.

I am still teaching kids, and adults too in not-so-remote areas. Building relationships with them and hearing their concerns and help if it's within my capacity. Mostly, all I give are encouragement and positive outlooks to navigate through life.
Aw love this 💗Sounds like you have the best of both worlds at the moment. Long may it last. Teaching is something that was always an option for me although when I went to Uni all those years ago, I was considering University lecturing rather than teaching in schools. Now the thought of teaching and nurturing younger kids in Primary school appeals to me somewhat. Smiles. I remembered when I joined too,I got confused at a point and i wanted to quit. I even made a post saying "lost my way on hive"then i got a lot of people that are willing to help. I had to put in the work too like reading new bie blogs and all.

I totally understand how being around kids for a certain amount of time can be totally draining. Coupled with the fact that not all kids learn at the same pace, hence, the repetition.
