Assistant from a total stranger

When I saw this prompt, I smiled to myself because I have experienced one, one from a complete stranger. It was two years ago when I was searching for my internship program. I was literally sending out applications to all government hospitals, not concerned about the distance.I always tell myself when we get to that bridge, we will surely cross it.

That evening I was scrolling through my phone when I saw the advert for an internship open for Calabar Teaching Hospital. I wanted to apply, but then I didn't even know anyone over there. There was a group chat I was in that helped deliver an internship parcel. I randomly chatted with a few people in the group to ask if they had used the services.

As usual, some people read my message and totally ignored it, while some said no, and it was the end of the discussion. But there was this girl who replied and began asking me some questions. She was inquisitive to know which department and more, so I ended up introducing myself, and we exchanged pleasantries. At the end she offered to help me submit my application; in her own perspective, she had just finished her internship as an intern nurse.

I was so happy and relieved but at the same time skeptical because I doubted why she was helping me. Truth be told, I haven't received such a favor from a total stranger. I sent her my documents, and she helped me submit them. We did voice calls and video calls, and we got to know ourselves very well. I thank her wholeheartedly; I just wouldn't express how I felt extending a helping hand without any hidden agenda, and to crown it all, she was a lady.

Even when I went for the exam, she was kind enough to accommodate me in her apartment for a few days before I left. She was hospitable and kind.Secondly was a lady I met three years ago. What brought us together was the asoebi I did for a friend. She was quite friendly and a good talker. We exchanged contact. We hardly spoke much until I had an internship exam at Enugu.

At first I thought she wasn't going to agree to take me in since we didn't talk much, but to my greatest surprise she agreed, and it was a relief. That was actually the first time I received help from a stranger, and the second was from a hive. When I started writing on Hive, my first post had lots of mistakes with the use of markdown. Jjmusa2004 was kind enough to correct me in the comment section.

We exchanged contact, and he assisted me in maneuvering and recommending some communities for me and even helped me in trading. I am the kind of person that never believes there are still good people. This influenced me so much that I made a decision to offer help to anyone who is in need of it. I was quite convinced that there are good people out there, and I wish to meet them.

Truly kindness happens in its own ways. Even yours was more amazing seeing that the people that helped you came from online.

I think 💭 we still have genuine souls that cares to in one way or another.

Thanks for sharing @jeclyn60 .
