As hardworking farmers, we know that a meal is never complete without chili. Its vibrant color, spicy taste, and fresh flavor make every dish more delicious.
Hi to all my fellow gardeners! Who here loves spicy food? We had a chili harvest today!

Today is the harvest day for my brother Jemsom’s chili. In my last post, I said that the chili is harvested weekly, so I want to give an update now. Earlier, I was with my mom and siblings, and we all helped each other because the farm is a little wide. Some relatives were also paid to help make the harvest faster. We had to sort out the rejected chilies before putting them in sacks to be taken to the buyer tomorrow morning.

We harvested two areas at the same time one with bell pepper. We started early to make sure we could finish everything today. We are also thankful for the good weather because if it rained, the paths would be very slippery and it would be hard to carry the harvest, just like last week when it took us until night to finish. There is only one buyer for all of it, and he is a regular customer who buys every week. I know many people can relate to harvesting bell peppers because the fruits are small, but there are many on each plant, so it’s actually fun to harvest.

Our plants need to be sprayed weekly to make sure the leaves and fruits are not damaged. That is why we take very good care of them. I have noticed that even though we harvest every week, the fruits never seem to decrease there are still so many, and that is why we love planting them.
We also have a big celebration planned on November 2 for my mom’s birthday. We will combine it with the blessing of the new car, so it will be a very happy day. We are very excited! Who wouldn’t be happy when we work hard and spend long days on the farm, and my brother was able to buy a car? We are so proud of being farmers.

Besides chili, we also grow other vegetables like string bean (balatong) and squash. Who here likes eating squash flowers? I know many of us enjoy them, especially Filipinos. We usually cook them with fried fish and other vegetables it makes a delicious meal. That’s why on the farm, no one goes hungry. There are plenty of fresh and healthy vegetables. If you work hard at planting, you will surely have a good harvest the saying is really true.

The banana plants haven’t started bearing fruit yet, but they will soon. There is someone there who maintains them and removes the weeds because they grow very fast, especially when it’s always wet from the rain. The plant is a bit thin and not very strong, but my mother plans to pile more soil around its roots so it will grow healthy and bigger faster.
I’m always happy to share updates about our farm and plants with you. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your support. Stay inspired, and see you next time!
Those chili look amazing.
