Splinterlands Art Contest Week 368! (Queen of Crows)

Hello fam! 👾

Guess who’s back after a long, long break?! It feels so good to say this again — I’ve missed you all! It’s been forever since I last posted a Splinterlands fan art, and picking up my pens again felt like coming home. So here we are, kicking things off with one of my favorite dark queens — Queen of Crows!

What makes her really shine is her balance. She’s not all about raw destruction — she’s about strategy. She brings healing, endurance, and quiet control to your lineup. That’s the thing about her — she’s not flashy, but she lasts, and that makes all the difference.

IN-GAME POWER STATS

Mana Cost: 8
Attack Type: Ranged
Ranged Damage: 3
Speed: 2
Health: 8
Armor: 2
Abilities: Flying, Tank Heal, Life Leech

1️⃣ Tank Heal:
This is one of her biggest strengths. The Queen doesn’t just fight; she sustains. If you’ve got a strong frontliner taking heavy hits, she’ll quietly keep them alive longer than your opponent expects. You can literally feel her presence turning the tide in drawn-out battles.

2️⃣ Life Leech:
Oh, this one is just beautiful. The more damage she deals, the more health she gains. It’s like she feeds off the energy of the fight itself. So while your enemy is slowly wearing down, she’s getting stronger. If you play her smartly, she becomes this unstoppable wall of life that’s hard to take down.

3️⃣ Flying:
And let’s not forget — she flies. Which means she dodges melee and ranged attacks better than most. That alone makes her incredibly frustrating to deal with if you’re facing her. She dances through attacks like it’s nothing.

Now, who benefits most from using her?
If you love battles that require patience, timing, and smart combos — Queen of Crows is your girl. She’s great for players who like to build defensive or mid-range teams that slowly outlast opponents. She pairs beautifully with tanks that need consistent healing and setups where survival is key.

But she’s not for everyone. If you’re the type who loves fast, aggressive plays — the “hit hard, hit quick” kind of style — she might feel a little too slow for you. Her mana cost is pretty high, so she fits best in battles where you can afford to invest in endurance rather than speed.

That’s her trade-off: she won’t destroy everyone in the first few rounds, but she’ll still be standing when most others have fallen.

🎨 The Drawing Process

After such a long creative pause, this drawing felt like a breath of life. I started with a light pencil sketch — soft and playful — capturing that confident tilt of her head and the flutter of her cloak. I wanted her to feel alive, like she’s about to command her crows into the twilight.

Then came the inking — my favorite part. I outlined everything carefully, bringing definition and boldness to her shape. Once that was done, it was time for the magic — color.

I used vibrant shades of purple, pink, and soft blue, layering each tone by hand. The goal was to make her radiant and powerful without losing that feminine grace. The crows got their own moment too, fluttering around her like guardians of her secret realm.

💬 Final Thoughts

Drawing Queen of Crows reminded me how much I’ve missed this — the thrill of storytelling through colors and lines, and the quiet joy of sharing it with all of you.

Queen of Crows is not the loudest warrior out there, but she’s one of the smartest. She rewards players who think long-term, who plan their moves carefully, and who know how to protect what matters on the field.

Thanks for stopping by folks
