Football hangout.

Hello everyone.

Weekends are just my favorite: relaxing and catching up with friends and family. I wasn't even planning on going out, but I got an invitation to hang out from a friend of mine, he called it a football hangout, where various type of people would be there, both elderly and the youngster. And we all know how football is a way of bringing people together.

I am not much of a beer person, but hanging with them was just what I needed. I noticed I haven't been going out so much lately, and if I do, it's just to get something and lock myself up, so the invitation came at the right time, I guess. When we got there, people had occupied most of the seats, but it wasn't long before we found where to sit. The best part was that I even got to make another new friend; she too wanted a break from work. That was her reason; she was pretty nice.

Afterwards, the celebration started with a short opening prayer by the speaker, and before I opened my eyes, the tables were filled with drinks.

The thing is, I'm not a beer person, so when they kept a bottle of beer in front of me, my mind took me to reject it and ask for a soft drink, but no. I wanted to be among those who were drinking beer.

And it took just one sip for the realization to hit that I had made a mistake. No offense, but it wasn't sweet—at least not the way people made it to be. And my tongue felt weird.

Nobody told me to hurry up and call the waiter to change the drink, so I settled for my bottle of Champ Malta. One I know my tongue and throat can handle. It was funny that my friend was staring at me, and they were all laughing at me.

I don't feel offended, though, because I'm not the first to not know how to handle beer; maybe in the future I will, but regardless, the outing was relaxing, and I got out all that negative energy from throughout the week. And I also made a new friend.
