This is one of the things I often say. 9months is so gracious of God to give us to raise the funds that can at least cater for delivery.
Moreover, pregnancy itself is not cheap. The scans and several other test that would be carried out, not to mention even complications.
Antenatal care should never be left for a few, all pregnant women should by all means, even if it be free take it seriously.
Sadly our Senators and House of reps are busy passing useless bill instead of moving for free antenatal attention for all pregnant women.
@josedicus you won't believe it if I told you that just a urinalysis strip which was about 100 naira a few years ago may be a 1000 naira now could have detected that proteinuria (presence of protein in the urine) and quick measures could have been taken to save both mother and child.
So sorry for their loss, but this is a call to everyone, the govt won't do everything for you, do some thing and at the right time.
Unfortunately the government will not do anything and it's very sad. It's the more reason why the man should have planned better. Pregnancy is by choice and if you already have children, it's important to prepare for whatever child you're willing to have.
It's true that hospital and tests have gone up recently. I've not seen my hematologist in close to a year because the cost of consultations have gone up. Unfortunately people don't choose their genetics, but they can choose to, or not to have a child and that's why I seem to angry with the man; they could have planned better.
Sadly tho, he ll marry another soon and the folly may go on. God help us.
Yes, I believe so too. Responsibility and accountability should be well ingrained in the society.
This man committed a crime and like you said, with his phallus and an ignorant mind.
I pray we do not fall into ignorance in any aspect of our lives.
