#MEDHIVE BACK HEALTH AWARENESS || IF YOU HAD A SUPER POWER, WILL YOU SAVE YOUR BACK?

Hello there, I hope you are in a good position while reading this post because I am sure the last one you read you were probably folded and the pillow was in the wrong place.

Have you seen the movie about Spider Man? Or any of the sequels, How he was swinging from skyscrapers, battling supervillains, and saving the world from certain doom? I am pretty sure he has a good health insurance for his back and that is even if those moves were not make-believe. It is mostly not real, but you are real and you know another thing that can be real..yes like back pain.

As it turns out, you don't need to be bitten by a radioactive spider to avoid experiencing back pain. There are thing you can do. And in this post I will be using some bit of my knowledge and experience with patients to highlight 10 common causes of back pain, with some medically proven tips to help you save yourself from the villain.

1. The Couch Potato Effect

You love this couch so much, its probably your best spot and where everything happens from. You put all you need around it and you don't have to move around again all thanks to your couch. But who is loosing and who is winning, it doesn't seem to be you anymore at this point if all you want to do after coming back from work is wrap like a cat on a couch and binge-watching Netflix.

Your back will hurts from being a human, who doesn't want to sit rightly.

To help with this please sit properly, stretch, and move around every 30 minutes. Your back (and your social life) will thank you.

2. The Heavy Lifter

Spider man, small but mighty, lifter of things, Please lift your size tho.

No, we have nothing against you lifting things, it is when you do it wrongly that we come in to arrest you. Hehe. Or you submit yourself for release from back pain. There is a way to lift heavy things from the ground with ought bend head over, it is your knees that get to bend to free your back of that work.

It causes unnecessary strains on your back muscles and spine as well.

"Remember this. Bend at the knees, lift with your legs, and avoid twisting"

And if it is too heavy for your back (not just for you) , Don't be a hero – ask for help!

3. The Sloucher

Has your mum ever caught you slouching, " That posture is bad, straighten your back now". She is actually right, it puts a lot of strain on not just your back muscles but your neck too and that can be a bit more dangerous if we could put it so.

The spinal cord is like a wire, supplying different sections on the neighbourhood with light, the last good part only remains functional when there is a problem or impingement from poor posturing.

Sit up straight, shoulders back, and core engaged. Your mom was right – good posture is key!

4. The Overpacker

Well, you know the phrase "pack light, travel far"? It applies to your daily life too. Carrying heavy bags or backpacks can lead to strained shoulders and back pain and by such, you may nit be using it for longer as you may have planned. Don't be a pack mule! Pack essential items, distribute weight evenly, and avoid single-strap bags.

  1. The Desk Jockey_

Are you a desk warrior, spending hours staring at screens and typing away? Prolonged sitting can lead to back pain. Take breaks, stretch. Your back (and your productivity) will thank you later.

Ergonomics can not be completely ruled out from the matter of your backs. You may have felt comfortable in those office chairs, but please for your own good, try to take a walk every 30 minutes to stretch your legs out of that prolonged sitting position once in a while. I have a wriswrist watch that triggers me when I stay in a position for a long time. It has worked sometimes and I know I need to move.

6. The Sleepy Time Squisher

Sleeping beauty, beware! Sleeping in awkward positions can wake you up with a sore back and a sore painful neck. Invest in a supportive mattress, and if you can afford it, using a pillow between your knees helps stabilise your back and corrects any stress on it for the hours of sleep.

7. The Gym Goer

Fitness enthusiasts, listen up!, this one is for you all. The gym is a place I be seen many people over exert themselves to gain a target they fixed in their mind. We'll, there is also a shape your should be avoiding, and that's the shape an injured back can give. Overexertion or improper form can lead to back pain. Warm up, stretch, and focus on proper form. Don't sacrifice your back for gains!

8. The Stress Case

Your back is the main engine behind the posture you take while working, driving, walking or sitting. With a weak back, you practically can't do much of all these. If you stress your self with work, tension can build up and cause you lots of pain and work down time. A good way is to have relaxation techniques or just rest flat on a flat surface to realise your back.

9. The Fashion Victim

Ladies are mostly culprits here,
Fashionistas, beware! Wearing high heels or unsupportive shoes can lead to back pain. Especially where the ground isn't leveled. Wear comfortable shoes, avoid high heels, and consider orthotics.

You stand directly lifting your back up, if it glides, your back is gonna be affected. Don't just join the fashion, is it fitting for your long term plans.

10. The Age Factor

We all or mostly all want to live long. It is not a curse to live long, especially if you ve not caused too much trouble for your health to be a burden at old age.
But, as we age, our discs degenerate, and bones weaken.

PPlease drink more water, stay active, maintain a healthy weight, and consider regular check-ups to combat degenerative disc disease or osteoporosis.

There you have it – 10 common causes of back pain, You are not a hero, don't sacrifice your back. Follow these tips, share them if you can. You can save yourself and others from unnecessary back pain and live a healthier, happier life.
