As a big fan of the entire Dragon Ball universe, I had not taken the time to talk a little about what is coming in less than a month and yes, on October 11 the new installment that the great Akira Toriyama left us before his death will be released. All this on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the premiere of DB so this series seeks, among other things, is to pay tribute to all this history and now I imagine that Toriyama himself as well. But, what do we think about it? - Some are expectant, others not so much, and after Dragon Ball Super many were left with doubts.

Todo esto a propósito del aniversario 40 del estreno de DB por lo que esta serie lo que busca, entre varias cosas, es rendir homenaje a toda esta historia y ahora imagino que al propio Toriyama también. Pero, que pensamos al respecto? - porque si hay opiniones variadas es en torno a esto. algunos están expectantes, otros no tanto y es que después de Dragon Ball Super muchos quedaron con dudas.

I was one of those who watched DBS and unlike many, I was not disappointed, 131 chapters where the central axis was a tournament to save humanity, maybe it was something cliché and repetitive, another tournament in DB, there is nothing else to do? - but in the end I feel that is the essence of this anime. The fights were good, good plot twists because that's what this anime offered us, maybe it was a little long, but personally it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Will it be the same with Dragon Ball Daima? - The fear I have is that it will annoy me, one has so idealized Dragon Ball Z for everything it represents for pop culture and anime, that it generates doubts to continue watching the continuation of the story.

Yo fui de los que vio DBS y a diferencia de muchos a mi no me defraudó tanto, 131 capítulos en donde el eje central era un torneo para salvar a la humanidad, quizás fue algo cliché y repetitivo, otro torneo en DB?, no hay otra cosa que hacer? - pero al final siento que es la esencia de este anime. Las peleas estuvieron buenas, buenos giros en la trama porque hasta eso nos ofreció esta entrega, quizás un poco larga si, pero personalmente no me molestó tanto como pensé que lo iba a hacer. Me pasará lo mismo con Dragon Ball Daima? - el miedo que me da es que me fastidie, uno tiene tan idealizado a Dragon Ball Z por todo lo que representa para la cultura pop y del anime, que generas dudas seguir viendo la continuación de la historia.

And I talk about continuation because yes, Daima is canon. Apparently this part of the story is placed right at the end of Dragon Ball Z, that is, when Majin Boo is defeated. I like this because of the three DBZ sagas, the Majin Boo saga is perhaps the coolest because of the amount of new characters it introduced, the theme of universes, the Kaiosamas, Babidi himself, etc. In fact, when we read the list of characters that we will see here, most of them are confirmed, which suggests an important nostalgia jolt, which in the end is what I think is the reason for Daima's existence. Because for a change, another of the things we'll see again is Goku's sacred staff, which has been abandoned for quite some time. Do we still doubt the nostalgia factor?

Y hablo de continuación porque si, Daima es canon. Aparentemente esta parte de la historia se ubica justamente al final de Dragon Ball Z, es decir, al derrotar a Majin Boo. Esto me gusta porque de las tres sagas de DBZ la de Majin Boo es quizás la más cool por la cantidad de personajes nuevos que presentó, el tema de los universos, los Kaiosamas, el mismo Babidi, etc. De hecho cuando leemos la lista de personajes que veremos acá la mayoría de estos están confirmados lo que sugiere una sacudida a la nostalgia importante, cosa que al final es lo que creo que es la razón de ser de Daima. Porque para variar, otra de las cosas que volveremos a ver es el báculo sagrado de Gokú que bastante tiempo estuvo abandonado. Seguimos dudando del factor nostalgia?

The little that is known is that for reasons of some conspiracy Goku and company became children (something like in GT) so to try to straighten things out they will have to go to a world full of mysteries, something like the Demon Realm. I didn't watch the whole GT, I didn't like it except for a couple of things: the intro which is a marvel (My Enchanted Heart) and the transformation of Super Saiyajin 4. The fact of seeing Goku small bothered me, I didn't see any sense in that decision so I didn't watch the whole thing. Those thoughts are coming back knowing that not only Goku but the rest will be affected as well. I honestly hope the decision behind this is a good one and not a failure as it was for me in GT.

Lo poco que se sabe es que por motivos de alguna conspiración Goku y compañía se volvieron niños (algo así como en GT) por lo que para tratar de enderezar las cosas van a tener que ir a un mundo llenos de misterios, algo así como el Reino de los Demonios. Yo no vi completo GT, no me gustó salvo par de cosas: el intro que es una maravilla (Mi corazón encantado) y la transformación de Super Saiyajin 4. El hecho de ver a Goku pequeño me molestaba, no le veía el sentido alguno a esa decisión por lo que no lo vi completo. Esos pensamientos están volviendo al saber que no solo Goku sino que el resto también se verán afectados. Honestamente espero que la decisión detrás de esto sea buena y no un fracaso como para mi lo fue en GT.

What must be said is that the design and animation seen in the trailer is spectacular. The way they painted Goku and Vegeta is very top notch and super well done. Generally DB's animations have not been bad but I feel that here there might be an improvement. In the end this is all speculative but if the feeling is good, the result will generally be good too. We will have new characters that will make this universe bigger, the typical friction between Vegeta and Goku and who knows if there will be a surprise transformation. The good thing too? - It will only be 20 episodes, we will have to see if they are able to tell the story well and close it in so few episodes.

Lo que si hay que decir es que el diseño y la animación que se ve en el trailer es espectacular. La forma en como pintaron a Goku y Vegeta es muy top y está super bien lograda. Generalmente las animaciones de DB no han sido malas pero siento que acá puede que haya una mejora. Al final todo esto es especulativo pero si las sensaciones son buenas generalmente el resultado también lo sea. Tendremos nuevos personajes que agrandarán este universo, el tipico roce entre Vegeta y Goku y quien sabe si alguna transformación sorpresa. Lo bueno también? - que solo serán 20 capítulos, habrá que ver si son capaces de que la historia sea bien contada y cierre en tan pocos episodios.

Before the trailer came out I was very skeptical, in fact I even considered not watching it but seeing what I've seen, maybe my opinion has changed a bit. Antes de que saliera el trailer estaba muy escéptico, de hecho llegué a considerar no verla pero viendo lo visto puede que mi opinión haya cambiado un poco. Le quiero dar una oportunidad por ser una historia escrita por Akira Toriyama y porque vuelvo a repetir, visualmente se ve muy bien. Que piensan ustedes?, la van a ver o pasarán de ella?, ven que hay un verdadero hype en el ambiente? - diganme que piensan a ver si no soy el único que en algún momento llegó a tener dudas. Maybe it's too early to rule it out, but I really don't think I'll watch DB Daima, in fact, GT and some of the movies was the last thing I saw, I think nostalgia doesn't give me to see these new things and I'm not particularly attracted to the new DB stuff.

Many people are in the same mood, before I saw the trailer I was in that place but I don't know, maybe I'll give it a chance.

GT not being something by Toriyama I didn't see it but I trust that master Akira has left something decent with DB Daima.

Seguramente muchos la verán por por dos cosas: nostalgia y buena animación. Nada más, porque seguramente la trama o lo que intenten hacer en esta nueva serie no le vaya a agradar a nadie, menos a los Haters de Dragon Ball GT. Yo tla vez la vea por lo mismo, tampoco es que esté de acuerdo con que esto exista. Yo lo que quería era un Remake con la misma excepcional animación que vemos en el Trailer de Daima, pero en Dragon Ball y DBZ. Pero bueno, tal vez le tenían miedo al éxito o no sé. Yo solo digo que si tanta ocurrencia de hacer chiquitos a los personajes principales es por hacer que la gente recuerde con nostalgia la obra original, entonces, ¿por qué no hacer un Remake de Dragon Ball y ya? Y más ahora que todo el mundo está haciendo Remakes. Pero bueno, el maestro se fue y nos dejó esto, a ver si es bueno.

I hope it will be good. I also don't like the idea of them being small, it's nonsense to me, I don't understand the need for that. I trust because it was Toriyama's work and it's up to believe it's something of quality but if yabhah people "upset" with Dragon Ball Super I don't want to imagine what could happen with the franchise if this ends up being a failure. We'll see...

Nah, I doubt it will fail with this new series. It will surely become a success and manage to make Dragon Ball popular as they have always done in every decade since it began airing. It is one of those franchises that is very difficult to fail due to its popularity.
