Why Web3 Nigeria Twitter Is Under Fire With Accusations
There's a trending story on CT NG that's causing separation among the Nigerian Web3 or Crypto community currently.
First things first I'm not Nigerian and didn't know any of the guys involved in the mess.
So what you're going to read here isn't biased in any fucking way because I ain't Nigerian and don't know or follow any of the guys involved.
I was lurking on Twitter as always do when I stumbled upon a post by SENSEI purportedly clearing his name !
I read through his submission and of course I didn't know what he was replying to , I scrolled through the comments and quote tweets and got the whole story.
Of course I've read the divergent views in relation to the matter and wow indeed we all think differently and guess what each of us think we're the 'right ones' .
Anyway I wanted to reply on X but I ain't yet verified so I can't write an article there and then I remembered I could pour out my thoughts here on Inleo.

Anyway let's get to the point of this article.
The Accusations Against SENSEI
You remember I stated that I first read a post by SENSEI defending himself of the "accusations'.
So let's go back to where everything started, are you ready.
A Twitter user or X user known by the name of Fisherr accused SENSEI of snatching his/her friend's job.
I ain't sure if Fisherr is a he or she, I didn't have time to investigate the gender as long as you follow the story!
In a long post Fisherr said that her/his friend( Spatto )referred SENSEI for a KOL job and later went under the friend's back to tarnish the name and later snatched the job!
Typical human nature at play here , isn't it?

Holy smokes I just reread the tweet and actually Fisherr said that SENSEI stole the job of his/her friend.
So I was was being polite above by saying snatched 🙆
Anyway stealing is a big word and shouldn't be taken lightly hence SENSEI's reply post.

Summary of Fisherr Accusation Tweet
Fisherr's friend called Spatto had a crypto job(Project Manager)with a company named Chicago CLT and was being paid guess around $1600 as per the comments I saw .
The Crypto company Chicago CLT asked Spatto for a KOL recommendation and that's where SENSEI comes in play.
So Spatto contacts SENSEI for the KOL gig and they agree on a $700 and a 10% referral commission to be paid to Spatto from the $700 , according to SENSEI screenshot he actually purpotes he paid Spatto $100 instead of $70 !

This is where it gets interesting, I love CT because of the unending drama .
The drama that ensued and my own additions to it will make this more interesting that your favorite Netflix series 😂
Btw I don't watch series because I like CT drama .
Fuck were those previous paragraphs even necessary for this post, no.
Anyway let's continue.
In case you might have veered off the storyline, here's where it gets interesting.
Fisherr claims that a few days after SENSEI got the $700 gig, he(SENSEI) went behind Spatto's back and tarnished his name against his boss(Chicago CLT).
This sounds like a movie script but it actually played out in real life .
As I said in a few paragraphs above, CT drama is really wild, it's like watching a movie but a written one 😂.
So Fisherr closed off her tweet saying that a few days later SENSEI posted the same job of the guy who hired him as a KOL.
What a way to end a movie,dang.
Anyway we aren't done yet.
A few things I read in the comments and quote tweets that I also want you to remember.
- Spatto was employed by Chicago CLT as PM earning $1600
- The KOL gig was actually 1000 and not $700
- Spatto was paid $100 and not the 10% ie $70 by SENSEI
Are you following, I want you to remember these details as we shall come back to them later in the post.
Of course Fisherr just like all of us condemned SENSEI and glorified his/her friend Spatto
So in Fisherr's eyes SENSEI is a bad mofo hence the public tweet.
Most of the comments to Fisherr's post as usual were condemning and calling SENSEI all sorts of names.
Almost 95% of the people who condemned SENSEI on Fisherr's post didn't wait or read SENSEI part of the story.
Typical human nature at play...
Of course I made up the 95% number because of human nature.....95% of humans are quick to blame/judge without facts!
Then boom SENSEI made his tweet.....and some people sided with SENSEI and some remained on Fisherr's side.

SENSEI Posts To Clear His Public Image
Of course like any sane human being, SENSEI had to post his point of view which dramatically changes the whole trajectory of this story!

Summary of SENSEI Post.
- Openly denied stealing anyone's job
- He never DMed the dev(employer)
- He didn't take Spatto's job ,he was given another job in the same company
- He charged Spatto $70O and both agreed on 10% referral ie $70 but instead paid Spatto $100
- Dev(employer) DMed him asking how much he was paid for the KOL gig and he replied $700 and the dev was shocked because he had given Spatto $1000 for the same gig!

This new information by SENSEI brought a twist to the whole accusation claim by Fisherr.....
As always people took sides, some blaming Fisherr, others blaming SENSEI .
Before you tell me which side you're own , let give my own conclusions to the whole scenario.
How Spatto Fucked Up
Of course this means that I'm on the side of SENSEI!
He should have told SENSEI straight forward that he's being paid $1000 and told him
" I'm giving you $700 and if anyone DMs you in regards to this tell them I paid you $1000 ..."
....and then SENSEI would either accept these terms or not.
We've all done referrals in our lives and transparency is what wins all the time.
Do you remember the info I told you to store in your minds above as I said we would need it later?
Here's where we're going to use that information!
Spatto was already an employee being paid $1600 as per the screenshots shared by SENSEI ( no proof though as screenshots can also be faked hehe).
But let's take it as gospel truth, Spatto already had a job paying him $1600 and he was offered an opportunity to look for someone to do a job of $1000 and he still wanted commission from it.
Greed ?? Who knows?
Y'all before you crucify me, wanting commissions ain't bad, but I guess it depends on the situation at the time...my 2 cents though.
So on top of his job, he deducted 300 from the 1k and still wanted referral on the 700, holy smokes 🙆.
So in total from the $1k gig Spatto made $300 straight off and then the additional $100 from SENSEI !
So in total Spatto pocketed $400 and SENSEI only $600!
Did you see how SENSEI replied that he got paid $700 because it's what Spatto agreed with him.
I saw some mofos saying that why didn't SENSEI DM Spatto when the dev was asking SENSEI payment questions..
How TF would SENSEI know that Spatto had taken off already $300 when Spatto hadn't informed SENSEI beforehand?
It was entirely Spatto's mistake in communication for all this mess ......my pov though.
It also so happens that Spatto lost the $1600 job.....and I'm kinda sure not because of SENSEI scenario but ...
But maybe maybe something else wasn't adding up and the SENSEI situation helped confirm the dev what was on his mind and he pulled the plug!
So should we say $40O referral commission cost Spatto his $1600 job?
To borrow a quote from Kanye West from his famous Grammy speech,
I guess we'll never know
If Spatto wasn't open with SENSEI chances are high he wasn't open with other things too!

How This Will Affect Spatto
- Other devs will be cautious of him
- Other KOLs will be cautious of him
- Some CT NG members will be cautious of him
Anyway as any human being would do, Fisherr still supported his/her friend (Spatto) even with the evidence SENSEI presented.
My unneeded Advice
Going forward we should always be as open as possible because we never know what could/can happen.
If you have a gig, tell your friend all payment details and ask him if he agrees to the terms so that in case the employer starts investigating this friend will cover you naturally!
Don't fucking be sneaky because chances are high you'll fucking be caught.
