WE267 || The distance feeds the reunions...

G' day! Galenkp... It happens to me with my friends, in fact, even if they don't live in my city, country, they are always present.

It's like that invisible thread that connects us called friendship. It is that bond that is always present despite the silence and the distance.

As Jorge Luis Borges said, "Friendship does not need frequency."

I have several friends, great human beings with whom I have emotionally identified over the course of my life, they have grown up with me or we have supported each other, we maintain a close relationship imperishable in time.

We talk little, but we report as if time has not passed. They are little lights that have never been turned off and that I know, whether they are far or near, the bond is fraternal.

It is also true that we have eventually shared and nurtured our friendship, sharing time in real life, the last time we met again in the Dominican Republic.

My friends are spread all over the world: Caracas, Cabimas, Maracaibo (cities in Venezuela), Canada, Florida, Texas, New Guinea, Panama, Spain...it would be great if they were all close....or maybe not, the distance feeds the reunions...that one knows.

Why do I love them?

They have been my accomplices, lovers of nature, especially the sea, we help each other to look at life from the most extreme optimism, they are the consolation in the painful absences that life and death have presented me, and this resignifies our bonds and gives a new and deeper meaning, joy and illusion to our affections.

I will always remember the friend who stayed. The one who saw past my cold answers, my distance, and "I'm fine" lies. The one who didn't give up when he stopped trying to keep his composure. They didn't need to understand the details. They just knew that I needed someone. And they were there. Not because I asked them to, but because they loved me enough to stay anyway.

I pray that the most radiant good fortune shines for each of them and that we can enjoy it together, even in the distance and that in moments of adversity we can continue to be for each other.

By the way, she is the sweet little cat, Luli, she was one of my friend Nadeska's cats, when she immigrated to the Dominican Republic, she left her under my care, a year ago, she is still with me.
