Street Foods Brought Back So Many Nostalgia

Before the pandemic breakout, I used to eat street foods near our school, which is situated in the downtown area. My go to order includes kwek-kwek, fried kamote and fried peanuts. However, ever since I graduated, I haven't eaten street foods because our workplace doesn't have street food vendors nearby.



I recently passed by a group of street food vendors inside the mall which brought back nostalgic feelings. They sell local delicacies, fish ball, fried snacks, Mango with bagoong, and fruit shakes. Most of these are my childhood favorites. The secret to a delicious street food is their sauces, as this will make or break the snack.

I still remember having the same biscuits, rosquillos,, plus Yakult drink as my snacks during recess in my grade school days. Our snacks were budgeted by my mother good for 2 weeks, so every time we want an extra biscuit, we'd have to ask her first.

Chips, in our household, were very expensive since my parents are very health conscious. It serves as a prize, together with jackstones, marbles, and candies, if we get good grades. So we always try our best in school.

The only street food that i dislike though is sago and gulaman as i find the taste too artificial. Now that im a health conscious adult myself, i try to avoid soft drinks and powdered iced tea, altogether.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anything in the street food market as i was in a hurry. I attempted to buy a fruit shake but its already sold out. Despite not buying anything, having these foods in sight brought back so many memories. What's your favorite street food? Comment down below and share some of your childhood favorites.
