RE: Book Review: Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges (ENG-SPA)

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Your enthusiasm is contagious. Now that you mention that Borges was a great essayist, I understand, reading his "Fictions," his mastery of theoretical physics speculations. I once thought he was a physicist like another great Latin American writer, Ernesto Sábato, but no... So he has greater merit, perhaps a self-taught librarian. By the way, when I was young, I was very interested in the life and work of Albert Einstein, and although I'm still immersing myself in literature, I'll set aside some time to read Borges' essay on the great German physicist, creator of the theory of relativity.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge.

Enthusiasm for Borges (or literature for that matter) is not the sort of thing one brings up in casual conversation. I can be pretty boring when I go down those paths. It's great to find an appreciation for something I care about.

You're so right! Few people are open to conversations about these topics. I think this is one of the reasons Hive is so great: it allows people, regardless of language barriers or distance, to come together and share their passions.
