Platinum - Once you find Silver, this Industrial Metal isn't far away.

A little bit of chemistry

My youth was focused mainly on business subjects.
I really wanted to study insects, particularly, ants.
However, there were more employment prospects in business. So, that was the focus.

Then came the Internet, and Social Media, which allowed nerds, who were no longer isolated, to meet other nerds around the planet.

This sparked an interest in Biology.
But first, before Biology, you need to understand a little bit about Chemistry.

I had heard of the Periodic Table. It was the Elements of Science.
But really, they are the Elements of our Existence.

Lo, and behold, it blew my mind how important these things were!

Precious Metals

My father and I were recycling some scrap metal at the time. Mainly Copper.

Copper is such a beautiful metal.
So, I had hobby experience with the Scrap Metal trade.

FIAT debt based system

Finding out about how bad our FIAT system is.
Then, understanding the unique properties of Silver and Gold.
It all combined as to how relevant these "outdated" metals actually are.
Especially, with the consumption of these materials in the modern technological Age.

Platinum for the collection

The Periodic Table beautifully demonstrates how the Atomic Number highlights the neighbours of Silver and Gold.

I decided to buy an Ounce of Platinum when the price was subdued at the time.

I think you have to go for a bit of toffee English.

Yes, there is more than gold and silver. However, many people don't know much about Platinum, and even less about Palladium or Rhodium. Also, they are usually rather unspectacular to look at. Only of Platinum I know about a coin that the Russians used to mint. That pretty cool, but hard to get hold of.
The other 2, same as some rare earth which can be incredibly expensive, don't look like much. Usually a powder in a glass tube. And if you tell people its worth a couple of thousand dollars, they just frown.

You know whats also a cool metal? Tungsten. Its also quite expensive, but still affordable. A bit cheaper than silver. But more compact - it weighs about the same as gold. I have a watch that is made of Tungsten, it weighs a good pound! But its quite cool, everybody thinks its made of white gold... :)
And the good thing is: it does not get scratches. Tungsten is incredibly hard, and it melts only above 3000°C. So if I ever get nuked, the watch will be all thats left. :)
So Tungsten can be concidered to be a stacking metal, too. It sure wont suddenly get cheap in the future, and nobody will steal it and run away with it. :)

May the cockroach humanoids appreciate your watch!! haha

yah, it is an amazing road to walk when you find such an interest.
you can never see the world the same again once u unleash the Silver genie from the bottle.

Well if any non-metal Hivers pull their finger out, they too may get a slice of the silver bug by buying a raffle ticket 😉

It's not a traditional Precious metal but can play a role in a diversified stack. I have only 1 gram so far.

Yes, I got into Platinum after investigating the chemistry side of things.
However, as mentioned, rhodium and palladium, would also be nice.

Bummer, me gots no more money for the moment haha 🤑

We need crypto to raise up again to rekindle my collecting.
