What do you want to know?
Audio can get away with a lower bit rate to a degree because the human voice has less range than musical instruments.
Budget recording gear and a good recording environment can go a long way. Try this site for some info from an audiophile podcaster.

The advice about low bit-rate is helpful. I found it sounded better with a lower bit rate, when it was at the highest you could hear all kinds of mouth sounds.
I have a shure iphone mic. It helps a little bit. I guess if there is a free app or site where i can reduce static or "s" sounds without making it sound inorganic would be cool!
I posted a sample as a short on leo, not sure if it went through or not.
Podsworth Media has some paid tools to reduce noise. A pop filter on your mic and a good studio setup helps prevent a lot of that on the first place. I think Audacity has some free tools to help, too.
