I proclaim that I would buy a bus or van to convert into a custom RV, outfit it with solar panels on the roof for off-grid living, and travel the country before deciding where to settle indefinitely. Then I would probably imitated the Roman emperor Diocletian to the extent that after he abdicated, he grew vegetables at his remote estate.

You sound like my husband, he wants to travel out west. He has been out of Fl twice in his 68 years, once as a child and once with me in 2010. I have lived on each coast, California, and North Carolina. I lived in the middle of the US, in Missouri, lived in Texas, and I live in Florida, but it has changed, and that is why my husband does not like it anymore. I think he wants to find a place to move to where there aren't many people. I will need to think about it.
I like the quote, it is how I feel about my home.
