Scenery Along the Cape Peninsula.

Today will be a short post where I will be sharing some of the scenery along the Cape Peninsula.

During our visit to Cape Town in December 2024, we took a drive along the Cape Peninsula. It was an extremely windy day, so it wasn't an ideal day to get out of the car on the beach. It was more of a sight-seeing trip. While my brother-in-law was driving, I was taking photos from the passenger seat.

At times, we were close enough to the ocean to get some nice shots of the beaches along the way.

After going through an area called Fish Hoek, we looked back and we saw an area on the mountain that caught fire.

...and with the ocean on our left-hand-side.

I loved the rocky areas on many of the beaches we passed.

As mentioned before, it was an extremely windy day. And although the waves weren't all that big where they came out on the beach, the water was rough. You can see how the wind was blowing over the water when you look at these waves.

After traveling down the "inside" (eastern side) of the Cape Peninsula, we turned inland at Smitswinkel Bay and moved across to the "outside" (western side) of the Cape Peninsula. We stopped over to have lunch in Scarborough, a little seaside town situated within the district of the City of Cape Town. To see what I mean, let's use Google Maps. You can see the Cape Peninsula to the left of the map.

As seen on Google Maps

According to Wikipedia, Scarborough... "was designated as a conservation village in April 1996, defined as "a residential area of limited extent, surrounded by a conserved natural landscape, committed to reverse past environmental damage and to avoid future environmental impacts""

After lunch, we continued our journey back north, toward Cape Town again. Eventually, we approached the suburban areas of Cape Town again.

Yet, the scenery remained nothing short of spectacular.

Even the clouds were spectacular.

In the last image for today, I loved how the clouds completed this picture.

And with that, we come to the end of today's post.

Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
