A Visit to a Quiet Beach in Amanzimtoti.

In the last few weeks, I haven't been out that much on walks as I would like to. Not because I didn't want to go out, but I just had a busy schedule and didn't get to do everything I wanted to...lol.

This post was meant to be published yesterday in the #wednesdaywalk community, but I've missed my own deadline😅!

Anyhow, today I want to share some photos of a recent walk we had on a beach in Amanzimtoti. We often pass by this beach, but we hardly ever stop there. It's one of those beaches that you always drive by, hardly noticing it. You know it's there, but you never pay attention to it, you know what I mean? Maybe it's because it's not very visible from the road, except for the parking space which is actually meant for a pub & grill restaurant.

Yet, the scenery when you do take the time to pull over and leave your car, can be very interesting as well as beautiful.

This beach is just south of the main Amanzimtoti Beach. Amanzimtoti is a coastal town, south of Durban, South Africa

As mentioned, the parking area is located outside the popular Ollies Pub and Grill, which is on the banks of the Manzimtoti River.

But instead of visiting the pub and grill, let's go down to the beach.

Just before going down to the beach, you find this interesting tower/mast of some kind... Maybe one of our local residents in the area can help us out by telling us what exactly this tower is...@joanstewart (hint hint😅)... Can you help us out?

It's located just above the beach.

From there, you start moving down toward the beach, walking along the banks of the Manzimtoti River.

Looking out over the river flowing down toward the ocean.

Looking inland, from where the river is approaching the ocean, passing under a railroad bridge. The main road, leading to Doonside (still part of the Amanzimoti area), is just behind the railroad bridge.

Arriving on the beach, we found that swimming wasn't allowed on this day, but clearly, the life guard was on duty.

As I looked up, I saw this guy (it looked like the life guard) patrolling the waters on his wet bike. So I took a few shots...

In my last photo for today, you can barely see the guy against the thundering white surf. If you look closely, you'll see him just right of the big white wave (about two thirds to the right in the image).

And that's it for today, folks!

Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
