Silvershield Assassin - Splinterlands Art Contest Week 286!

Welcome to my Splinterlands Art Contest Week 286 Entry! For this week, the Splinterlands character I chose is Silvershield Assassin.

Silvershield Assassin is a Life Element Melee Attack Monster with Sneak and Double Strike Ability. It's truly an assassin because when it reaches level 5, it gains a poison ability that makes it a tougher opponent.

Drawing Steps:

First, I thought about the best pose for the character I'm drawing, and I chose a slightly seated side view pose.

So I started by sketching the pose first.

After completing the pose, I began to draw the things that identify Silvershield Assassin. I gave it clothes and a weapon.

Once I finished this, I darkened the lines and cleaned them up to proceed to coloring.

This time, I've decided not to use to many outlines, instead i'll just depend on the shading to make each element in my drawing distinct from other elements.

As usual, I start with the base color when coloring because that's where I base my shading.

After finishing the base color, I started shading. The light and dark shade will be based from the base color.

Unlike my previous art, I used a bit of blur effect here to blend the colors.

For the background, I simply used extracting lines and chose a color where my character would stand out by adjusting the hues.
