¡Hola queridos amigos! Espero estén muy bien, hoy estoy por aquí para compartir con ustedes mi visita el día de hoy a la Iglesia San Francisco ubicada en Caracas, la cual es una iglesia realmente hermosa, así que acompáñenme a conocerla.
Hello dear friends! I hope you are well, today I am here to share with you my visit today to the San Francisco Church located in Caracas, which is a really beautiful church, so come with me to see it.
Esta iglesia de estilo neoclásico barroco data desde 1593, año en que fue construida. Se ubica entre las esquinas de San Francisco y La Bolsa de la avenida Universidad cerca de la Catedral en el Centro de Caracas. Esta iglesia me gusta mucho ya que me llama mucho la atención todos sus años de antigüedad, estando allí dentro es inevitable preguntarse toda la historia que alberga ya que además también posee muchas obras que datan de la época colonial que están muy bien conservadas. Me gusta mucho el altar el cual está ornamentado de una manera muy bonita, y las lámparas que cuelgan del techo son también hermosas.
This neoclassical baroque style church dates back to 1593, the year it was built. It is located between the corners of San Francisco and La Bolsa on Universidad Avenue near the Cathedral in the Caracas's Downtown. I really like this church because all its years of antiquity catches my attention. Being inside it's inevitable to wonder about all the history it houses because it also has many works dating from the colonial era that are very well preserved. I really like the altar which is decorated in a very beautiful way, and the lamps hanging from the ceiling are also beautiful.
Los laterales están hermosamente decorados con unas imágenes preciosas y ornamentos dorados bellísimos. También hay alguna que otra obra que data de la época de la colonia adornando las paredes, y las imágenes que más me gustan de la iglesia son las de San Francisco de Asís (soy muy devota de él) y la Virgen del Valle la cual está vestida con un hermoso traje blanco. También me encantó el altar que le construyeron al Santo Niño en Belén ya que según nos contó una señora que trabaja en la iglesia, la imagen del Niño que está allí, fue traída del verdadero lugar en donde nació Jesús en Belén, y el altar del Niño también es realmente hermoso.
The sides are beautifully decorated with beautiful images and beautiful golden ornaments. There are also some works that date back to colonial times adorning the walls, and the images that I like the most in the church are those of San Francisco de Asís (I'm very devoted to him) and the Virgen del Valle which is dressed in a beautiful white suit. I also loved the altar that they built to the Holy Child in Bethlehem because according to what a lady who works in the church told us, the image of the Child that is there was brought from the real place where Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and the altar of the Child too it's really beautiful.
Lamentablemente el altar del otro lado estaba cerrado pero cuando tenga la oportunidad de ir y que esté abierto me encantará visitar esa ala y sacar fotos de lo que tiene adentro. Tuve también la oportunidad para conocer la parte de atrás de la iglesia y me sorprendió el ver muchas más obras y objetos que también datan de la época de la colonia, es decir de hace más de los años 1700. También hay algunas catacumbas, que para visitar hay que pagar algo, sin embargo me dio curiosidad y me provocaba bajar sin que nadie me viera jajajaja.
Unfortunately the altar on the other side was closed but when I have the opportunity to go and it is open I would love to visit that wing and take photos of what is inside. I also had the opportunity to see the back of the church and I was surprised to see many more works and objects that also date from the colonial era, that is, from more than the 1700s. There are also some catacombs, which for To visit you have to pay something, however it made me curious and it made me go down without anyone seeing me hahahaha.
Bueno como ven, es una iglesia realmente hermosa la cual vale mucho la pena visitar, es un monumento nacional que alberga mucha historia del país y también como dato curioso, les cuento que en este lugar nuestro libertador Simón Bolívar, fue nombrado Libertador luego de la Campaña Admirable así que es emocionante que la iglesia haya sido testigos de grandes acontecimientos. El Centro de Caracas está lleno de muchos lugares de interés e historia, y diría que este es de los más bonitos.
Well as you can see, it is a really beautiful church which is very worth visiting, it is a national monument that houses a lot of history of the country and also as a curious fact, I tell you that in this place our liberator Simón Bolívar was named Liberator after the Admirable Campaign so it's exciting that the church has witnessed great events. The Caracas's Downtown is full of many places of interest and history, and I would say that this is one of the most beautiful.
