framed and famed tokyo skytree
it was one of those days were i went on nightwalker mode when i reached this bridge.
you can check about that experience in below:
dazzling shirahige bridge one fine night: June 24 2024 |
it was at the moment when i crossed the bridge that i saw the view.
the bridge's metal arches acted as frames to the iconic tokyo skytree.
@friendlymoose also happened to host #POBPhotocontest for this week and the subject was framing, very one cue!
tokyo skytree
now let me talk a bit about this tower, standing at 634 m made of steel since 2012, tokyo skytree is the tallest tower in the world.
you might say that this is one hell of a white elephant (giraffe would probably be fitting, too) but this tower is actually the primary tv and radio broadcast site for the whole of tokyo and the surrounding prefectures.
allow me to give fun facts after fun facts, the height of 634 was not a random number.
when read in old japanese, 634 is "mu-sa-shi" which reminds people of the old musashi region where the tower currently stands.
you can read all of these and many more in their website.
i naturally took lots of pictures of the subject but i chose this one above as my entry.
i just love how it showed motion and stillness in one frame, which somehow signifies that the tower will always be there serving as a beacon even with the passing of time.
below were the equally beautiful shots i took that night.

led lights showing different colors and designs.
if my memory is correct, i think it showed the colors of the olympic rings when it was help in tokyo last 2021.
i jokingly told my friend that this was a picture of the "leaning tower of tokyo".
we all laughed.

and here were the other shots which also showed motion.
it was a marvelous sight indeed, and a great discovery to be added to my nightwalkers's collection.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
