Más allá de la lámpara: Un análisis psicológico del kdrama “El genio y los deseos” (esp-eng)

Si de algo puedo dar fe, es que soy una amante de las series asiáticas sin distinción, puedo deambular entre los kdramas, cdrama y doramas como un pez en el agua. Sus tramas, más allá de las risas y la diversión, suelen tener temas profundos que nos permiten analizar estereotipos de la misma sociedad.
Tenía pensado hace unos días escribir sobre la última serie que vi en la plataforma de Netflix, esta serie se llama El genio y los deseos y a mi ver una obra maestra creada en trece capítulos de alrededor de una hora cada uno.
Pero el tema en sí, no hacer un review de esta magnífica serie de la creadora Kim Eun Suk logró transmitir temas profundos en la sociedad, muchos de los que pasan desapercibidos u ocultos bajo máscaras.
En esta serie podemos analizar varios puntos y los iré desglosando uno a uno.
1 Exploración de la naturaleza humana
Se nos deja ver en repetidas instancias que la humanidad es vulnerable y fácil de corromper ante la visión de poder y riqueza.
Las personas al hallar la lámpara en primera instancia sienten desconfianza, pero al aparecer el genio de manera “seductora” en palabras logra atraer a los humanos. Por lo regular su primer impulso, por ende deseo es pedir riquezas, ósea, obtener lo que pensaron debieron tener desde hace tiempo.
En base a estas escenas de manera graciosa por demás está decir vemos cómo la mente se corrompe en aras del poder y dinero. La mentalidad humana, pareciera se basa en querer las cosas rápido, además de la envidia de tener lo que otro quiere y peor aún, querer más de lo que se pueda tener solo por el gusto de ser reconocidos por un entorno que se mueve a base de apariencias.
2 Trastorno antisocial de la personalidad
Este punto fue el más llamó mi atención, el trastorno antisocial de la personalidad o llamados psicópatas se deja ver en esta serie también.
Aquí puede ver la lucha del núcleo familiar de quien padece esta enfermedad de la mente, personas que gozan haciendo el mal sin saber que lo están haciendo ya que son carentes de emociones.
Una problemática donde la persona al no tener emociones se lanza haciendo cosas indebidas, como por ejemplo lastimando animales de manera cruel. La incapacidad de entender el sentimiento humano es lo que catapulta estos actos y es una lucha constante para quienes viven con quien lo padece.
Sin embargo en esta serie se nos deja ver que la compasión humana y el amor pueden ayudar a la persona, no a extirpar esta enfermedad de la mente, sino que a aprender a vivir con ella y que así no sea alguien de peligro para la sociedad.
Técnicas de relajación, tales como escuchar el sonido de un reloj, logra que la persona se calme, por otro lado vemos cómo la persona con el trastorno camina con una piedra en su zapato solo para sentir la molestia que ella misma puede causar a quienes le rodean.
3 Empatía
Esta parte se muestra de manera profunda, aquí se plantea que existen personas empáticas que buscan el bienestar de terceros.
A pesar de ser personas con rasgos psicópatas (como la protagonista Ki Ka-Young) vemos que ella en medio de no sentir emociones prefiere confiar en que hay personas fuertes que no pueden corromperse.
4 Avaricia v/s bondad
La avaricia humana como expresé anteriormente es uno de los puntos centrales de la historia, personas que buscan tener riqueza y poder es algo que se muestra en repetidas instancias. Por otro lado, en una delgada línea podemos hallar la bondad humana, esa parte que hace que se termine habiendo el bien a pesar de la tentación del momento.
En resumen, esta serie nos muestra una paleta de colores de la misma humanidad y sociedad en la que vivimos. Personas que se dejan influenciar y seducir ante palabras de riqueza. Por otro lado, quien se jacta de ser “malvado” ríe y goza jugando con niños, trabajando en el campo.
Por otro lado, el tema de amor y la fe también están presente dejándonos ver que el amor puede have cambiar hasta al mismo diablo, en esta caso al genio Iblis o también conocido como satán.
No obstante, las emociones humanas son el hilo conductor de esta serie, que la mayor parte nos entrega risas a montón dejando sus últimos episodios con tristeza y profundo análisis. El sacrificio, la confianza, la avaricia y el poder, una lucha eterna entre las personas y fuera de la fantasía de esta serie podemos darnos cuenta que no es más que toques de realidad que vivimos a diario.
Si encontraras hipotéticamente una lámpara de los deseos ¿qué deseo pedirás y porque lo harías?
Ahora a modo de recomendación puedo decirles que la serie El genio y los deseos es una de las mejores series que he visto en este último tiempo, la trama es buena, los actores logran transmitir las emociones por completo y hasta podemos empatizar con algunos de ellos.
La ambientación es sumamente linda y podemos disfrutar de diversos paisajes, por otro lado, también se nos presentan diversas historias y sus realidades.

If there's one thing I can attest to, it's that I am a lover of Asian series without distinction. I can wander between K-dramas, C-dramas, and doramas like a fish in water. Their plots, beyond laughter and fun, often have profound themes that allow us to analyze stereotypes in society itself.
A few days ago, I planned to write about the last series I watched on Netflix. This series is called The Genius and the Wishes, and in my opinion, it is a masterpiece created in thirteen episodes of about an hour each.
But the point is not to review this magnificent series by creator Kim Eun Suk, which managed to convey profound themes in society, many of which go unnoticed or hidden under masks.
In this series, we can analyze several points, and I will break them down one by one.
1 Exploration of human nature
We are shown repeatedly that humanity is vulnerable and easily corrupted by the prospect of power and wealth.
When people find the lamp, they initially feel distrust, but when the genie appears in a "seductive" manner, he manages to attract humans with his words. Usually, their first impulse, and therefore desire, is to ask for riches, that is, to obtain what they thought they should have had long ago.
Based on these scenes, which are funny to say the least, we see how the mind is corrupted for the sake of power and money. The human mentality seems to be based on wanting things quickly, as well as envy of what others have and, worse still, wanting more than one can have just for the sake of being recognized by an environment that is driven by appearances.
2 Antisocial personality disorder
This point caught my attention the most. Antisocial personality disorder, or psychopathy, is also evident in this series.
Here you can see the struggle of the family unit of someone who suffers from this mental illness, people who enjoy doing evil without knowing they are doing it because they are devoid of emotions.
A problem where the person, having no emotions, throws themselves into doing inappropriate things, such as cruelly hurting animals. The inability to understand human feelings is what drives these acts, and it is a constant struggle for those who live with the sufferer.
However, this series shows us that human compassion and love can help the person, not to eradicate this mental illness, but to learn to live with it so that they are not a danger to society.
Relaxation techniques, such as listening to the sound of a clock, help the person calm down. On the other hand, we see how the person with the disorder walks with a stone in their shoe just to feel the discomfort they can cause to those around them.
3 Empathy
This part is shown in a profound way, suggesting that there are empathetic people who seek the well-being of others.
Despite being people with psychopathic traits (such as the protagonist Ki Ka-Young), we see that, despite not feeling emotions, she prefers to trust that there are strong people who cannot be corrupted.
4 Greed vs. Kindness
Human greed, as I mentioned earlier, is one of the central themes of the story. People seeking wealth and power is something that is shown repeatedly. On the other hand, we can find human kindness on a fine line, that part that makes good prevail despite the temptation of the moment.
In short, this series shows us a palette of colors of the very humanity and society in which we live. People who allow themselves to be influenced and seduced by words of wealth. On the other hand, those who boast of being "evil" laugh and enjoy playing with children and working in the fields.
On the other hand, the themes of love and faith are also present, showing us that love can change even the devil himself, in this case the genie Iblis, also known as Satan.
However, human emotions are the common thread throughout this series, which mostly gives us lots of laughs, leaving its final episodes with sadness and deep analysis. Sacrifice, trust, greed, and power—an eternal struggle between people. Outside of the fantasy of this series, we can see that it is nothing more than touches of reality that we experience every day.

Now, as a recommendation, I can tell you that the series El genio y los deseos is one of the best series I have seen in recent times. The plot is good, the actors manage to convey the emotions completely, and we can even empathize with some of them.
The setting is extremely beautiful, and we can enjoy diverse landscapes. On the other hand, we are also presented with different stories and their realities.

Quizás en ocasiones el ser humano fantesee con pedir deseos, que pedir, dinero, amor y más fortuna, pero muy pocos piensan en la salud o ayudar al prójimo, ahí se ve la avaricia corrompiendo nuestra esencia.

Amé este k-drama y amé como hicistes un analisis psicologico del mismo, de verdad tiene mucho por explotar, por ejemplo el como emplean los colores para generar esas sensaciones y entender lo que esta pasando cada personaje. En definitiva, el mejor personaje es la abuela, siento que es la personificación de empatia y amor, para ella, su nieta se volvio su mundo y la llevo por el buen camino.
