Hello, friends, I discovered this community a while ago and always knew I wanted to make my first post, but as fate would have it, and although it may seem incredible, since then I haven't had the opportunity to drink a good beer. What's more, this year started at an incredible pace, with work commitments multiplying exponentially and opportunities for an active social life dissipating as the days went by.

Hola, amigos, desde hace un tiempo descubrí esta comunidad y siempre tuve muy presente que quería realizar mi primera publicación, pero por cosas del destino y aunque parezca increíble, desde ese momento no había tenido la oportunidad de beberme una buena cerveza. Además, este año comenzó con una velocidad increíble, en donde los compromisos laborales se multiplicaron exponencialmente y las oportunidades de tener una vida social activa se fueron disipando con el pasar de los días.

But it's always important to leave space in our lives to share and enjoy incredible moments, which often don't have to be elaborate or perfectly planned events. On the contrary, the most special memories almost always arise from the most fantastic spontaneity. This is how this encounter between father and son came about: while I was doing some household chores, my dad went out to do some shopping, and I naively asked him how much a beer was costing at the moment. He told me it was about $2 and asked me if I wanted one; I said yes, as long as it was at home. He left, and I stayed behind to finish my chores.

Pero siempre es importante dejar un espacio en nuestras vidas para compartir y disfrutar de momentos increíbles, los cuales en muchas ocasiones no tienen que ser un evento muy elaborado o perfectamente planificado, sino, al contrario, casi siempre los recuerdos más especiales surgen de las espontaneidades más fantásticas. De esta forma como surge este encuentro entre padre e hijo: mientras yo me encontraba realizando algunas tareas domésticas, mi papá fue a hacer algunas compras y de forma ingenua le pregunté cuánto está costando una cerveza en este momento. Él me dijo que aproximadamente 2 $ y me preguntó si quería tomarme alguna; yo le dije que sí, siempre y cuando fuera en la casa. Él salió y yo me quedé realizando las tareas pendientes.

When I return, my dad surprises me with a couple of the most iconic beers in all of Venezuela, Polar pilsner, a bright golden drink with white foam and a mild bitterness, ideal for spending time with family and friends, chatting about everyday life and current events. Polarcita, as it is known here in my country, has become an undisputed icon of Venezuelan cuisine over the years, commonly consumed at sporting events, gatherings with friends, and nightclubs.

Al regresar, mi papá me sorprende con un par de cervezas de las más icónicas de toda Venezuela, ya que se trata de la Polar tipo pilsen, una bebida de color dorado brillante, espuma blanca y amargor suave, ideal para pasar un rato entre familiares y amigos, conversando de las cotidianidades de la vida y temas actuales. La Polarcita como es conocida acá en mi país, a lo largo de los años se ha convertido en un icono indiscutible de la gastronomía venezolana, comúnmente consumida en eventos deportivos, reuniones entre amigos y en locales nocturnos.

I must confess that a few years ago I did not consider beer to be one of my options, and at that time I really did not know what I was thinking, much less was I aware of everything I was missing. But after my time at university, I discovered a real taste for this drink. I learned to differentiate between colors, aromas, and flavors, which I think is fantastic, as it is a truly vast universe of beverages, where we can always find a beer to suit everyone's taste.

Debo confesarles que hace unos años atrás no consideraba la cerveza dentro de mis opciones y en esos momentos realmente no sabía lo que estaba pensando y mucho menos estaba consciente de todo lo que me estaba perdiendo. Pero luego de mi paso por la universidad descubrí el verdadero gusto por esta bebida, aprendí a diferenciar entre colores, aromas y sabores, lo cual me parece fantástico, ya que se trata de un universo de bebidas realmente amplio, en donde siempre encontraremos una cerveza adecuada para el gusto de cada quien.

Over the years, Polarcita has become an ally of joy for all Venezuelans and, at the same time, it is a beer that has gradually positioned itself in the international market, showcasing the typical Caribbean flavor of these lands, but also showing the world the typical personality of the Venezuelan people.

La Polarcita se ha convertido a lo largo de los años en una aliada de la alegría de todos los venezolanos y, al mismo tiempo, es una cerveza que poco a poco se ha posicionado en el mercado internacional, dando a conocer el sabor caribeño típico de estas tierras, pero al mismo tiempo mostrándole al mundo la personalidad típica del pueblo venezolano.

On this occasion, my dad and I talked, laughed, and enjoyed a pleasant afternoon; we accompanied our beer with some snacks, and before we knew it, night had fallen. What better way to end the day than by eating one of the hallacas left over from December and enjoying the refreshing taste of a cold Polarcita soda?

En esta oportunidad, mi papá y yo conversamos, reímos y disfrutamos de una tarde agradable; acompañamos la cerveza con unos snacks y, sin darnos cuenta, se nos hizo de noche, y qué mejor forma de terminar el día que cenando una de las hallacas que quedaban de diciembre y disfrutando del sabor refrescante de una polarcita bien fría.
