Memoir Monday #46 (1/20-1/26) - What Makes Me Sad?
This is an entry to the writing contest run by friend @ericvancewalton in the @silverbloggers community with the topic of the week: What makes you feel sad?
First I want to define SAD. According to Wikipedia, the word sad or sadness describes us as a type of emotional pain or affective state caused by spiritual decline and often expressed through crying.

Now, knowing the term sadness, I can explain what I feel in some circumstances that do not make me happy but on the contrary, make me sad:
Of course the death of a person.
When we lose a loved one, like a brother or our mother, sadness reaches the deepest part of our being. Whatever circumstance your family member has gone through, it is inevitable to feel sad. But there is a type of loss that has touched the fibers of my body equally and it is the loss of a partner that you did not know before and you met during your chemotherapy treatments, you see her healthy and suddenly you receive the news that you friend lost the battle she was fighting for. That's when you ask yourself: Why go through so much suffering if you're going to stop living anyway?
Maybe it's because you think that that could be you, that you're still fighting and that you could lose that fight. We know that we are all going to die sooner or later, but that grief that we often carry for years within our hearts makes us feel sad without being able to avoid it and I believe that there is no magic formula to avoid it but to cry every time we want to.
Children who live on the street:
Mothers feel that we are blessed every time we are able to have a child and for that same feeling of blessing we should not let them beg in the streets, spend the day outside the house without knowing what they are doing or what they should do. It is studying, preparing for a secure future with a profession.
A child on the street alone is losing his childhood days, which is a person's most treasured memory, he is becoming an adult prematurely before the indulgent gaze of the world.
The government and the community should be vigilant about those families that have their children on the streets without attending school, it makes me sad that a child does not have the love and care of his parents because children come into our lives to be loved ones.
Abuse of animals and our pets:
Animals and mainly pets are beings that give us all their love and expect us to reciprocate equally. It makes me sad to see a little dog on the street all beaten up and dirty because its owner didn't take care of it and it escaped, or maybe it ran away because of the bad treatment that the pet had in that house.
Animals have their intelligence and ability to understand when they are not treated well in a place, that is why they flee and that is where they have the greatest difficulties since they do not know how to cross streets and are run over, for the being that gave you love, that His tail moved every time you returned home. There is no ambulance to pick him up and take him to a hospital. There are no hospitals for animals that have fled due to the lack of love in their homes. How is this resolved? Don't have a pet if you're not going to commit to it.

An emotionally charged text. Certainly death is the only sure thing in life, but how difficult it is to accept it. Greetings
