¿Puede la literatura salvar vidas?

Creo que la literatura puede hacer muchas cosas por las personas, puede incluso salvar su vida pero también puede hundirla, todo depende del estado mental en que se encuentre el individuo y el tipo de literatura a la que esté expuesto, en este sentido la pasión por los libros puede ser algo que sea positivo pero también existen limites, llegado a nivel de obsesión todo en este mundo puede ser perjudicial, no es mentira que existen quijotes en la realidad, los cuales han perdido por así decirlo el sentido para reconocer la realidad mas allá de los libros, pero también es posible que la literatura sea un refugio para aquellas almas que están siendo atormentadas por tanta realidad, el mundo no necesariamente es un lugar bonito para todos, así que la literatura puede ser ese escape que necesita la persona por momentos para poder seguir luchando en su vida diaria.

I think that literature can do many things for people, it can even save their lives but it can also ruin them, it all depends on the state of mind of the individual and the type of literature to which they are exposed, in this sense the passion for books can be something that is positive but there are also limits, reached the level of obsession everything in this world can be harmful, it is not a lie that there are quixotes in reality, who have lost so to speak the sense to recognize reality beyond books, but it is also possible that literature can be a refuge for those souls that are being tormented by so much reality, the world is not necessarily a beautiful place for everyone, so literature can be that escape that the person needs at times to be able to continue fighting in their daily lives.

En este sentido considero que la literatura puede formar parte de nuestras vidas en diferentes forma, bien sea por leer o por escribir, para mi por ejemplo ambas cosas son importante, pero la escritura de poemas y cuentos o simplemente las descripciones de las emociones que siento, me ayudan a sacar todo ese universo que existe en mi mente y que no puede ser retenido por las barreras materiales, explorar el mundo de imaginación a través de la literatura es mágico y siempre existe la posibilidad de estar viviendo en dos mundo, el mundo de la palabras e ideas y el mundo donde estas pueden materializarse.

In this sense I consider that literature can be part of our lives in different ways, either through reading or writing, for me for example both things are important, but writing poems and stories or simply the descriptions of the emotions that I feel, help me to bring out all that universe that exists in my mind and that cannot be retained by material barriers, exploring the world of imagination through literature is magical and there is always the possibility of living in two worlds, the world of words and ideas and the world where these can materialize.

Hace un tiempo vi una entrevista que le hicieron Cortázar en la cual él decía que le gustaba tanto leer cuando era niño que llego a un punto donde incluso un medico le recomendó a su madre que él no leyera mas libros, porque obviamente se la pasaba muchísimas horas en eso, no obstante, sabiendo que Cortázar se convirtió en un escritor tan prolífico en importante para el mundo literario, es bastante razonable pensar que no siempre los genios son comprensibles para el mundo, pero la literatura puede ser el medio por el cual llegamos a acercarnos un poco mas al entendimiento de los otros.

A while ago I saw an interview with Cortázar in which he said that he liked reading so much when he was a child that he even got to the point where a doctor recommended to his mother that he not read any more books, because he obviously spent many hours on it, however, knowing that Cortázar became such a prolific and important writer for the literary world, it is quite reasonable to think that geniuses are not always understandable to the world, but literature can be the means by which we come to get a little closer to understanding others.

Por supuesto, para mi cualquier manifestación artística puede servir para salvar a las personas, dependiendo del contexto la literatura puede ser fuente de inspiración y desahogo, puede ser la balanza que equilibre las cosas entre lo imaginario y lo cotidiano, por otro lado tenemos el ejemplo de la literatura religiosa que ha influenciado gran parte del mundo como hoy lo conocemos debido a la gran cantidad de personas que le siguen, así que también es importante recalcar que las personas siempre están buscando un sentido a sus acciones que vayan mucho mas allá de lo lógico y razonable, es decir, que en esa búsqueda del sentido de la vida y el propósito, la literatura puede acompañar a la gente para seguir viviendo y salvándose cada día, todo va a depender de lo que le guste leer.

Of course, for me any artistic manifestation can serve to save people, depending on the context literature can be a source of inspiration and relief, it can be the scale that balances things between the imaginary and the everyday, on the other hand we have the example of religious literature that has influenced much of the world as we know it today due to the large number of people who follow it, so it is also important to emphasize that people are always looking for a meaning to their actions that go far beyond what is logical and reasonable, that is to say, in that search for the meaning of life and purpose, literature can accompany people to continue living and saving themselves every day, everything will depend on what you like to read.
