Los temas de JulyInLeo están muy interesantes, el de hoy es el género musical favorito, esto me llena de emoción porque la música es algo muy importante en mi vida, tengo un género musical predilecto pero esto no quiere decir que es el único, sin embargo, casi siempre está muy relacionado con los otros y que alguno son tanto influencia como consecuencia, es decir dentro de un genero siempre van a existir vertientes o subgéneros pero además van a existir géneros aparte que convergen en alguna característica común, es por eso que dentro de la subcultura gótica existen muchos géneros musicales asociados a la misma, pero sin dudarlo mi género musical favorito es el gothic rock aunque por sentido común se podría decir que el post punk se asocia debido a que es parte de la raíz de este.

A mi el gothick rock me gusta porque diversa razones, es un estilo musical en donde las guitarras eléctricas crean una atmósfera bastante oscura, pero donde el bajo predomina bastante siendo un elemento distintivo y esto llama principalmente mi atención, el sonido de la batería es simple pero potentes, es común encontrar que bandas prefieran usar cajas de ritmos y que sea el tecladista el encargado de la percusión en el sintetizador, las voces pueden ser de diversos tipos pero es común que existan bandas donde la voz masculina es grave , aunque también hay bandas con voz femenina en donde la dulzura de la voz es incomparable, también existen voces masculinas que son andróginas pero estas ya van a géneros como el post punk o el deathrock, las letras también pueden variar pero se enfocan mucho en los sentimientos, la introspección, la oscuridad, la literatura e incluso algunas pueden tocar temas paganos aunque esto no es una regla, hay diversidad temática dentro del mismo género.

Este género nació en los años 80 pero obviamente fue influenciado por el post punk y el New wave, aunque el dark wave es una rama aparte de gothic rock existe venas que los unen, en el caso de mis bandas favoritas de gothic rock tengo una larga lista, pero realmente me gustan las bandas de las vieja escuela por así decirlo, aunque en la actualidad hay un resurgir en el género con propuestas musicales muy buenas a nivel mundial, para mi es un excelente momento para el gothic rock y el post punk, tanto así que algunas bandas que se habían separo hace años han vuelto a reunirse para sacar nuevos materiales musicales y hacer giras de conciertos alrededor del mundo.
