Greetings dear community, today I share with you my entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest Week 372, for which I created a macrame necklace inspired by the Calamity card. It's a legendary card of the Dragon element from the Arcane Conclave collection. It particularly caught my attention because, although it belongs to that element and is a card that instills chaos, it has a very cute appearance. It resembles a small, multicolored axolotl, which reminds me of the colors of the sugar skulls used in Day of the Dead celebrations, and that's why I was so happy to complete this project.

Saludos querida comunidad, hoy comparto con ustedes mi participación en el Splinterlands Art Contest Week 372, para el cual realicé un collar en la técnica macramé inspirándome en la carta Calamity, es una carta legendaria del elemento dragón de la colección Cónclave Arcano, llamó particularmente mi atención porque aunque pertenezca a dicho elemento y sea una carta que infunde caos, tiene un aspecto muy lindo, parece la apariencia de un pequeño ajolote de muchos colores que me recuerda a los colores de las calaveritas del día de los muertos y por eso me hizo muy feliz realizare este proyecto.

Materiales / Materials

• Acrylic yarn: beige, black, white, fuchsia, aquamarine, blue, yellow, and purple.

Patrón / Pattern

I created this pattern in the Pixel Station app, which allows you to paint square by square using the brush or paint bucket tool. I worked on a canvas 23 squares wide by 18 squares high. In this pattern, each square represents a knot, the number of columns represents the number of guide threads (23), and the number of rows represents the number of rows of knots (18). Then, in the InShot app, I added the numbers to the image.

Hice este patrón en la aplicación Pixel Station, esta permite pintar cuadro por cuadro con la herramienta pincel o el bote de pintura, trabajé sobre un lienzo de 23 cuadros de ancho por 18 cuadros de alto, en este patrón cada cuadro representa un nudo, el numero de columnas el número de hilos guía (23) y el numero de filas el numero de hileras de nudos (18). Luego en la aplicación Inshot agregé los números a la imagen.

Proceso / Process

I cut 70 cm of Chinese thread cord, took one end and made a sliding knot wrapping the opposite end, I did the same with the other end, that way the necklace cord is ready, I burned the leftover ends with a lighter, but that is optional.

Corté 70 cm de cordón de hilo chino, tomé un extremo e hice un nudo corredizo envolviendo el extremo opuesto, hice lo mismo con el otro extremo, de ese modo queda listo el cordón del collar, quemé las puntas sobrantes con un encendedor, pero eso es opcional.

I wrapped the necklace cord around the board. Using the beige yarn, I cut eleven strands of 30 cm each, plus an additional strand that I left attached to the ball. I took the strands in the middle and knotted them in the center of the necklace as shown in the pictures, first knotting the strand attached to the ball on the left. This gave me 23 guide strands, and the strand attached to the ball will serve as the knotting thread in the background color.

Rodeé la tabla con el cordón del collar. Con el hilo beige corté 11 hebras de 30 cm y una hebra adicional que dejé unida al ovillo. Tomé las hebras por la mitad y las anudé al centro del collar como muestro en las imágenes, anudando en primer lugar a la izquierda la hebra unida al ovillo, de ese modo obtuve los 23 hilos guía y la hebra unida al ovillo funcionará como hilo anudador del color de fondo.

From that moment on I made the knots following the order of the colors in the pattern, adding the knotting threads of the necessary colors. In this technique, the knots are made when the knotting thread wraps twice around each of the guide threads, from left to right in the odd rows and from right to left in the even rows. To change the color of the knotting thread, the strands must be crossed behind.

A partir de ese momento hice los nudos siguiendo el orden de los colores en el patrón, agregando los hilos anudadores de los colores necesarios, en esta técnica los nudos se realizan cuando el hilo anudador envuelve dos veces cada uno de los hilos guía, de izquierda a derecha en las hileras impares y de derecha a izquierda en las hileras pares, para cambiar de color de hilo anudador las hebras se deben cruzar por detrás.

Once all the rows of knots were finished, I separated the guide threads into 4 parts and made four knots, cutting the ends to even them out and make fringe. I cut and hid the knotting threads behind.

Una vez terminada todas las hileras de nudos, separé los hilos guía en 4 partes y realicé cuatro nudos, corté las puntas para emparejar y hacer flecos. Corté y encondí por detrás los hilos anudadores.
