Saludos queridas Damas de Hive, el día de ayer fue mi cumpleaños 36 y me parece una buena oportunidad para responder una de las preguntas del concurso comunitario de Ladies of Hive 265, que se trata sobre si nos sentimos menores o mayores para nuestra edad 😊

¿Me siento mayor o más joven para mi edad?

Si me fuesen preguntado esto hace algunos años atrás seguramente respondería que me sentía mucho mas joven para mi edad, pero que en los últimos tiempos he llegado a un punto donde comprendo que los adultos no ahora no necesariamente encajamos en el modelo que se tenía décadas atrás, es decir, considero que la generación milenial tenemos gustos, comportamientos e incluso apariencias que años atrás eran asignados a personas más jóvenes, incluso veían como audaces aquellas personas que no encajaban en los modelos sociales que habían establecido, pero ahora me parece muy positivo que dichos tabúes de la edad ya no se consideren un asunto serio, esto no solo es algo de apariencia, creo que hasta a nivel de salud la gente está envejeciendo de forma mas adecuada para su edad.

En apariencia no creo que me vea más joven sino lo justo, tengo algunas canas, mis líneas de expresión se notan un poco y algo que es totalmente culpa mía es que como no hago actividades físicas obviamente mis niveles de energía ya no son como antes, mi mente tampoco es tan rápida como cuando era una adolescente pero aun así no me siento vieja, es decir creo que encajo muy bien en lo que sería una mujer de 36 años en cualquier parte, considerando que mis gustos personales se ven manifestados también en la forma en que me visto, pero no creo que eso indique que me vea de una manera más joven de lo que soy.

Por cierto, la foto que les comparto es una foto completamente honesta, sin filtros ni maquillaje y tampoco ropa resaltante, por lo que me veo tal cual soy a mi edad. Estoy en realidad satisfecha con mi apariencia general para la edad que tengo, algo que no me gusta mucho es un poco los cambios o declives que ha tenido mi salud, pero creo que cumplo con lo que se considera ser un adulto en sus mediados 30s y que además soy madre, mi hijo tiene 10 años y me complace poder ver con algún anime que nos guste a los dos, eso es algo que no pude hacer con mi mamá porque los padres de generaciones anteriores no tenían ese tipo de gustos o por lo menos no era algo tan común, yo en cambio no veo cambios radicales en mi apariencia o comportamiento que me hagan sentir mayor, sigo disfrutando del tipo de música que me gusta, cuando logro comprarme ropa de mi gusto no me importa si sigue alguna moda sino que adapte a mi gusto, quizá por eso no siento que haya un limitante de la edad en lo que respecta a mi personalidad, siendo así posiblemente siempre se joven 😊

Greetings, dear Ladies of Hive! Yesterday was my 36th birthday, and it seems like the perfect opportunity to answer one of the questions from the Ladies of Hive community contest 265, which is about whether we feel younger or older than our age. 😊

Do I feel older or younger than my age?

If you had asked me this a few years ago, I would have probably answered that I felt much younger than my age. But lately, I've come to understand that adults don't necessarily fit the mold of decades past. I think millennials have tastes, behaviors, and even appearances that years ago were assigned to younger people. People who didn't fit the established social models were even seen as daring. But now, I think it's very positive that these age taboos are no longer considered a serious issue. This isn't just about appearance; I think that even in terms of health, people are aging more appropriately for their age.

I don't think I look younger than I actually am. I have a few gray hairs, my wrinkles are showing a bit, and something that's entirely my own fault is that I don't exercise anymore, so obviously my energy levels aren't what they used to be. My mind isn't as sharp as it was when I was a teenager either, but even so, I don't feel old. I mean, I think I fit in pretty well with what a 36-year-old woman would look like anywhere, considering that my personal tastes are also reflected in the way I dress, but I don't think that makes me look younger than I am.

By the way, the photo I'm sharing is a completely honest one, without filters, makeup, or anything flashy, so I look exactly as I do at my age. I'm actually quite satisfied with how I look for my age. Something I don't particularly like is the slight decline in my health, but I think I fit the definition of an adult in my mid-30s. Plus, I'm a mother; my son is 10, and I'm happy to be able to watch anime together that we both enjoy. That's something I couldn't do with my mom because parents of previous generations didn't have those kinds of tastes, or at least it wasn't as common. I, on the other hand, don't see any radical changes in my appearance or behavior that would make me feel older. I still enjoy the kind of music I like, and when I manage to buy clothes I like, I don't care if they're trendy, as long as they suit my taste. Perhaps that's why I don't feel that age limits my personality, and I'll probably always feel young. 😊
